Shin Hannari Kikutaro (2007)

Tamura Kikutaro, known as “Hannari Kikutaro,” was born as the eldest son of a doshin-gashira (head officer) in the Kyoto Magistrate’s Office. However, he leaves home to pass on the family succession to his younger brother and ends up lodging at a kuji-yado, an establishment akin to a modern-day law office. Handling the various lawsuits and incidents brought into the kuji-yado, Kikutaro resolves them with his deep understanding of both the public and hidden sides of society, his sensitivity to human emotions, and his skill with the sword. Now making his long-awaited return, more refined than ever, Hannari Kikutaro takes center stage once again in the ancient capital of Kyoto.
