Shadow Work (2026)

The story is set in a traditional Japanese house by the sea, a shelter called “Ouchi” that takes in women who have suffered abuse from spouses or parents. Noriko, who had nearly given up on life after being controlled both physically and mentally by her husband, is offered a helping hand by a nurse named Michiko at the hospital and comes to stay there. Although “Ouchi” has various rules, Noriko begins to live peaceful and protected days. Gradually, she starts to rediscover her true self, but at the same time, she begins to feel a growing sense of unease.
