Episode 8 feels like the moment when the past finally refuses to stay buried.What began as a strange love story built around 25 years of devotion has gradually transformed into something much darker. Every answer seems to uncover another question, and every character who appeared innocent or peripheral suddenly seems to carry a piece of the past.What fascinates me most is how the series plays with perception. We see what we want to see and believe what we want to believe. Sota spent 25 years looking at his life through the eyes of love, but what happens when that same story is seen through someone else’s eyes? Was it devotion, obsession, guilt…or simply a man desperately trying to give meaning to something that happened when he was young?His confession in this episode may be one of the most important moments of the series. Not because of what he admits, but because for perhaps the first time he seems to understand that love, no matter how sincere, does not automatically justify the choices we make in its name.Meanwhile, the mysteries surrounding Mariko’s family and the events of 25 years ago continue to unravel. Just when you think you’ve figured out who matters in this story, the writers quietly remind you that someone standing in the background may have been part of the picture all along.Eight episodes in and instead of knowing more, I somehow feel I know less.And I absolutely love that.
