Golden hits, C-drama actors, and an AI judge walk into a blender

Welcome to Treasured Voice 7, the show where the music industry collectively asks: "What if we threw every genre, generation, and random C-drama actor into a blender and just… hit 'frappé'?"

The ratings might be a solid 8.0/10 from the twenty people who still use kisskh, but the real entertainment isn't the singing—it's the beautiful, chaotic energy of watching professionals pretend this was a good idea.

The "Vocal Titans" Bring Their A-Game (and Their Schedules)

Sun Nan and Jeff Chang are here to remind you that "golden hits" mean hits from when your parents were cool. Their rendition of 《袖手旁观》 is exactly what you'd expect: Sun Nan's powerhouse vocals fused with Jeff Chang's silky, tear-jerking delivery. It's the musical equivalent of a fine wine pairing—if one wine was a thunderstorm and the other was a gentle, heartbroken sigh.

Jane Zhang and Chen Chusheng open the season with 《巴拉莱卡》, a performance that reportedly caused a "zero negative reviews" internet meltdown. Jane's whistle tones can shatter glass, Chen Chusheng's voice sounds like a lonely poet who forgot his umbrella, and together they create a duet so dramatic you'd think they were settling a decades-old feud on stage. It's chef's kiss chaos.

Meanwhile, Rainie Yang serves as both a regular artist and the show's emotional support human. She cries when rookies crack, she tells sweet stories about her aunt's celebrity crush on Luo Yunxi, and she still finds time to deliver a steamy duet with Neo Hou. Rainie is basically the show's designated "vibes curator."

The "Actor Crossover" Experiment (a.k.a. "Is This an Audition?")

Ah, the crossover stages—the show's "major draw" and its "biggest gamble". Luo Yunxi steps onto the stage for 《桃花诺》, which is a song from his own 2016 drama A Lifetime Love. He pairs up with Huang Xiaoyun, and the result is a performance so emotionally devastating it makes you want to rewatch a show you probably never finished. He even wore a flower behind his ear, because subtlety is for people who aren't Luo Yunxi.

Then there's Neo Hou (Hou Minghao), who has apparently decided that being a top-tier actor wasn't enough suffering. He duets with Zhang Bichen on 《甲乙丙丁》, and the internet collectively loses it, calling his performance "professional singer" level. He also teams up with Ding Dang for a heartbreak anthem that makes you question why anyone ever dates. The show doesn't just invite actors—it throws them into the deep end and waits to see if they float. To Neo's credit, he does more than float; he swims.

The Innovative Arrangements (or: "Huang Xiaoyun Says 'Challenge Accepted'")

If there's one person who treats Treasured Voice like a personal vocal boot camp, it's Huang Xiaoyun. She doesn't just sing—she conquers. Her duet with Wang Zhengliang on 《答案》fuses a Chinese musical theater piece with a Handel opera aria, complete with coloratura runs that make the audience wonder if they've accidentally wandered into a Vienna concert hall. One judge literally says this stage "can tell the world what Chinese singers are". No pressure, everyone else.

She also partners with Rainie Yang for 《野心家》, goes full bad-guy energy with Zhou Zhennan on 《Bad Guy》, and delivers the aforementioned gut-punch with Luo Yunxi on 《桃花诺》. Huang Xiaoyun is the human embodiment of "I'm not stuck in here with you—you're stuck in here with me."

The Unspoken MVP: The AI Judge

Because nothing says "music is about human emotion" like an algorithm critiquing your vibrato. The show introduces AI singer avatars and an AI judge, creating a "human vs. machine" dynamic that's equal parts fascinating and existentially terrifying. The AI provides "data-driven" feedback on pitch, breath, and emotional tension, which is a very polite way of saying a computer is roasting your performance in real-time.

The verdict? Treasured Voice 7 is a gloriously messy spectacle. It's overstuffed, over-ambitious, and occasionally over-the-top—but you can't look away. It's the variety show equivalent of a potluck where someone brought a Michelin-star dish, someone else brought gas station sushi, and everyone is somehow having the time of their lives. Grab some popcorn, lower your expectations for "musical purity," and enjoy the ride.
