Ikebukuro is one of Japan’s largest entertainment districts, where all kinds of incidents occur on a daily basis. To help maintain public safety, the Nishi-Ikebukuro Police Station establishes a Victim Support Unit, a department dedicated to helping crime victims and their families rebuild their lives and move forward after tragedy. However, every victim’s circumstances are different, and there is no single answer to what kind of support is truly helpful. In this department, where there are no easy solutions or definitive endings, Kuroki Natsumi works tirelessly to support those in need. One day, psychologist Shiraishi Eriko joins the unit as a support worker. While Natsumi has a natural ability to connect with victims as an equal and earn their trust, Eriko possesses extensive knowledge but struggles to communicate effectively with the people she wants to help.
