Fake Fact Lips Special

This epilogue really made up for the fumbled finale of the drama

Once again, I'm wondering why the epilogue is not included into the main series instead of being splitted on a different page. For me, this is the real ending of the drama and does not warrant to be separated from it as it is a straightforward continuation of episode 9 of the show.

Having said that, I am super happy with this epilogue. After a "finale" that I found disappointing (even if it did not diminish my overall enjoyment of the series), this episode really made up for it. It showcased the best part of the main characters relationship perfectly and provided a very satisfying conclusion. The only thing that annoyed me a bit was the soundtrack, and despite my love for the opening song, I don't get the choice to repeat it ad nauseam...But at least sound was less disturbing than in episode 9.

I would strongly recommend this to people that have watched the "main" series. It is really the continuation of the drama and provide a proper conclusion to the series. It had no reason to be separated from it, so make sure to watch it to say a proper goodbye to the characters, as it round up beautifully their rivals-to-lovers story.

The Perfect last episode. No exaggeration.

I have a private list called "Rewatchable BLs", and the only other BL on that list is the actual Fake Fact Lips show.

This last episode completed the entire series on an unbelievably satisfying level. It quite literally took my soul to a different dimension. Every time I finish a drama that I enjoyed and would probably revisit, the last episode rarely lands the way this one did.

But I need to mention that this feeling could only be fully expressed because I watched their dynamic unfold in the actual show; all their bickering, flirting, and misunderstandings.

Quick last note: If I were to ever lose my memory, this is one of my top TV shows I'll watch.

The Perfect Goodbye to an Amazing Love Story

This is the special episode that follows the main nine episode series. Make sure you watch it after finishing all nine episodes of the main series to fully understand the story. You can watch it on GagaOOLala or iQIYI.

And what a beautiful way to end such an amazing series. The special episode continued everything that made the original drama so enjoyable and gave us the perfect conclusion to Ryo and Zen's journey. After watching their rivalry slowly turn into love, seeing them finally enjoy their relationship as a couple felt incredibly satisfying.

The long-awaited hot spring trip was exactly the kind of ending they deserved. Instead of more misunderstandings or competitions, we got to see a softer and happier side of Ryo and Zen as they embraced their new life together. Their chemistry remained just as strong, and their little moments together reminded me why their relationship was one of my favourites.

I loved that this special episode did not feel unnecessary. It felt like a proper farewell that allowed us to spend more time with these characters after everything they went through. From high school rivals, to coworkers constantly competing, to finally becoming lovers, their journey came full circle in the best way possible.

I will genuinely miss both Zen and Ryo. Their playful arguments, amazing chemistry, and unique love story made Fake Fact Lips such a memorable Japanese BL. This series gave us romance, comedy, rivalry, and so many unforgettable moments.

Thank you for giving us such a wonderful story. I really hope we get another series like this again because Japanese BLs with this much charm, chemistry, and heart are truly special.

Repito lo mismo del review de la serie principal

Muy buena adaptación. Agregaré algunos detalles que no mencioné en el review anterior, pero que considero que son importantes:
Primero, muy bien lograda la experiencia de "romance entre hombres de traje" que es un tópico que personalmente amo. Me encanta el uso de la ropa y accesorios como parte importante de los personajes para señalar sus personalidades, su estado de ánimo, la situación en la que se encuentran. Que se regalen accesorios masculinos de uso cotidiano para ellos es tan queercodificado que AMO cada vez que se usa el recurso en alguna historia. Esto es parte del manga principalmente y la serie lo pudo adaptar bien; pero mi segundo punto es mérito propio de la serie.
El uso de los espacios a los que pueden acceder, que no sé si habrá sido una decisión conciente o sólo tenían presupuesto y decidieron usarlo para grabar en lugares lindos, pero les resultó perfecto. Es interesante ver que ambos personajes, los vendedores estrella de cada departamento de una gran empresa, obviamente deben ganar bastante dinero y, con lo trabajólico que son ambos, claramente no lo gastan de manera cotidiana. Lo podemos ver en la ropa que se compran, quizá, pero sobre todo, en sus casas. Ambos departamentos son amplios para ser individuales y, una vez que se van a vivir juntos, es en un espacio tan amplio, que se puede deducir que fue carísimo conseguirlo en Tokio; pero es algo que pueden permitirse al juntar el dinero de ambos y considerando que será su hogar, lo que por supuesto es una prioridad máxima para ellos. Lo mismo pasa con la onsen a la que van: el hotel es lujoso, la habitación que arriendan es amplia, con dos paredes de ventanales y una terma privada; algo a lo que claramente no cualquiera puede acceder.
En fin, me encanta esta historia y la serie le hizo justicia, fin.
