Duty First, Kiss Later Episode 4

The kiss that Takoi tries to initiate with Shiono ends up being an “attempt” only. Although Takoi admits that he has feelings for Shiono, he cannot hide his confusion. Meanwhile, Takoi and Shiono are assigned to work together on an investigation. Takoi wants to encourage Hikari, who comes to Yamanomichi Police Station every day after her father’s arrest, and give her hope. Shiono, however, believes that giving her false hope is more cruel and that they should tell her the truth. Their views gradually begin to clash. Then, decisive evidence is found proving that Hikari’s father committed the crime, leaving Hikari devastated. “That’s why I told you. Your kindness ended up hurting Hikari.” Shiono’s words cut deeply into Takoi. A new rift has formed between Takoi and Shiono. Where will their relationship go from here?
