Okano Masayuki is an ordinary boy who struggles academically and is hardly a standout on the soccer field, yet dreams of becoming a professional player. With his father dismissing his ambitions and his poor grades limiting his options, Okano enrolls in a rural boarding school, only to discover that it does not even have a soccer club. Refusing to abandon his dream, Okano teams up with Nagai Ryuichi to build a soccer club from scratch. Their unlikely recruits are a group of delinquents and misfits with little experience or discipline, and their journey is filled with defeats, conflicts, and ridicule.
