Death Valley '95 (2027)

It begins with the reunion of two brothers who have followed contrasting paths in life: Ichiro, who has achieved social success as a university professor, and his younger brother Jiro, who is painfully aware that he has never amounted to anything. When Ichiro asks Jiro to investigate the behavior of his wife, Naomi, Jiro follows her to a hotel by the coast. There, he witnesses Naomi's figure disappearing into the mist-shrouded sea. Several years later, Jiro is working as a private detective when a former member of the Self-Defense Forces named Shikamure approaches him with a request to find a missing woman named Sachiko.
