Shen Zhao Ning was born under mysterious circumstances with a lifespan of only twenty-five years. Abandoned by her biological father as a child, she was rescued by a Taoist master and raised to practice secret feng shui arts. Accompanied by the spirit cat Xuan Wu and carrying the Xuanluo Umbrella, she travels from place to place, eliminating supernatural threats and using demon cores to prolong her life. As Shen Zhao Ning encounters a series of bizarre cases rooted in folk beliefs and ancient legends, she discovers that they may all be connected to a curse involving her own family. Determined to uncover the truth about her origins and escape the fate awaiting her, she returns to the Shen residence, where long-buried secrets surrounding her birth and the family’s past begin to emerge.
