Abyssal Sentience

In 1965, a drilling accident in the Arihundi Gobi Desert led to a disaster in which exploration worker Chu Han Wen mysteriously disappeared. Twenty years later, the Lenghu Oilfield receives a mysterious signal from the depths below, bringing the long-buried case back to the surface. Beneath the Gobi Desert exists an unknown life-form known as Hundi. It can parasitize human bodies and cause mutations, while creating an underground network of shared consciousness. Chu Nan Fei, Liang Yi Han, Zhou Fang Hua, and others venture into the perilous depths beneath the Gobi Desert. There, they confront both mutated infected people and the ambitious organization known as the "Natural Science Society," while also facing family trauma and difficult choices concerning human nature. Humanity attempts to suppress or control this mysterious power, while Hundi, which possesses a consciousness of its own, also observes and learns from humans. When every attempt to control it ultimately fails, humans and the other life-form set aside their confrontation and begin exploring together an awakening and a future that belong to both sides.
