'The Journey of Legend' actress responds to her controversy, while C-netz await drama's release
Kim Ji Yeon's (aka Bona) agency is taking legal action against netizens posting malicious comments and posts.
On May 12, King Kong by Starship stated, "Recently, malicious posts and comments involving the spread of false information, malicious slander, and personal attacks against our artist Kim Ji Yeon have been circulating indiscriminately through social media and online communities."
They added, "This clearly constitutes an illegal act that infringes upon the artist's honor and character. In response, we plan to take strong legal action based on legal procedures, with no leniency or settlements."
They also stated, "Going forward, we will continue to closely monitor the situation and do our utmost to protect our artists and prevent any further harm. We sincerely thank you for your continuous love and support toward our artists."
Bona is currently starring as Yeo Ri in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama The Haunted Palace. The series is a fantasy about Yeo Ri, a shaman who rejects her fate as a spirit medium and lives as an artisan of eyeglasses, and Kang Cheol, an imugi (mythical serpent) trapped in the body of Yeo Ri's childhood friend Yoon Gap (Yook Sung Jae), as they tackle spirits holding grudges against the royal family.
The show has been receiving lots of love, both domestically and internationally, and is inching closer to scoring double-digit viewership.
