
Girls Day's Lee Hye Ri will reportedly return to the romance genre after four years.
On May 20, media outlets shared that Lee Hye Ri has been chosen to lead the upcoming K-drama Chair Time. This series was first offered to Park Shin Hye.
Lee Hye Ri's agency shared their response to the casting reports. Sublime stated, "Lee Hye Ri did receive the offer to lead Chair Time. The K-drama is one of the projects that was offered to her."
Chair Time will tell the romance story of Lee In Young, a top general manager, and Jo Chi Soo, an eccentric dentist. The two will showcase how they heal and grow to love each other.
The upcoming K-drama will be the next work of director Lee Gwang Young. She is known for creating the works The Scandal of Chun Hwa, Call It Love, and The Secret Life of My Secretary.
Lee Hye Ri received an offer to portray the role of a skilled top manager who can work wonders and revive a dental clinic that has lost its charm, provided the pay is good. Her character is cold and at the top of her industry.
The broadcast date and channel or streaming platform for Chair Time have not yet been confirmed.
This year, Lee Hye Ri led the thriller mystery K-drama Friendly Rivalry. She worked alongside Chung Su Bin, Kang Hye Won, Oh Woo Ri, Choi Young Jae, and Kim Tae Hoon.
Lee Hye Ri is also set to star in the upcoming film Night Fever with Woo Do Hwan, Jang Dong Gun, Park Sung Hoon, Kim Min Seok, and Kim Min.
She will also hold her first-ever solo fan meeting tour this year, titled "Welcome to HYERI’s STUDIO." On June 7, she will meet fans in Korea at Ewha Womans University's Samsung Hall, after which she will embark on her tour and go overseas to meet her international fans.
