On May 14, Netflix held the script reading of their new confirmed original K-drama, This Sucky Love. It was also confirmed that Jung Hae In and Ha Young will be the main leads of the upcoming series.
This Sucky Love is a romantic comedy K-drama about a prosecutor who wakes up with amnesia and a boxing coach who claims to be her boyfriend.
The upcoming K-drama will be the joint work of director Kim Jang Han (My Demon) and writer Mo Ji Hye. The two previously worked together in the 2021 K-drama You Raise Me Up.
This Sucky Love will exclusively premiere on Netflix. It will reportedly premiere in 2026 and will have a total of 12 episodes.
Jung Hae In will bring to life the character Jang Tae Ha, a former youth boxing champion who became a gangster. After his time with the gang, he decided to change his life and become a boxing coach in a small town. His past and present collide when his final job as a gangster leads him to meet Go Eun Sae, his first love, who has lost her memory, driving him to create a dangerous lie.
This will be Jung Hae In's next rom-com project after the hit series Love Next Door with Jung So Min.
On the other hand, Ha Young will portray Go Eun Sae, a prosecutor from the Anti-Corruption Investigation Department at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office. Known for her competence and outstanding performance, she is a trusted prosecutor among her seniors. While tracking a violent organization, she was caught in an unexpected accident that led to her developing amnesia. After waking up in an unfamiliar hospital in a small town, she encounters Jang Tae Ha, who claims to be her boyfriend.
