Following Lee Jong Suk's departure, Choi Yun Ji exits 'Iseop's Romance'
Channel A's upcoming Tuesday drama kiDnap GAME has unveiled its first teaser, offering a glimpse into the brutal survival game.
kiDnap GAME centers on kidnapping cases that break out simultaneously across seven Asian cities — Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, Naha, and Manila — and follows characters who enter a life-or-death survival game to save someone precious to them.
A Korean-Japanese-Hong Kong production project, the drama stars acclaimed actors, including Sakaguchi Kentaro, Lee Joon Gi, Ko Chia Yen, Stanley Yau, Carrie Wong, from numerous Asian countries.
The teaser begins with the families of victims in all seven cities receiving a mysterious message asking, "How far can you go for the person you love?" Under a merciless set of rules — including a strict 10-day time limit and the condition that "only one person can survive" — Tokyo detective Toshiro Niide (Kentarō Sakaguchi) and retired doctor Han Ki Joo (Lee Joon Gi) engage in a fierce battle of wits to save their loved ones.
The production team stated, "Through the first teaser, we have opened the curtain on a brutal game spanning seven cities, where 'only one person survives.' Please look forward to the desperate struggles of characters who find themselves at a crossroads of choices as they fight to save their loved ones within the limited time frame of just 10 days."
kiDnap GAME premieres on October 6. It will be available to stream on Viu (select regions).
In other news, on September 6, Japanese outlet Sports Hochi reported that Sakaguchi Kentaro announced through his paid fan club website that he had married a non-celebrity woman he had been dating. Sakaguchi stated, "Although this is a private matter, I have gotten married to a non-celebrity woman whom I have been dating." He continued, "I would like to devote myself even more to my work as an actor."
