From the U.S. to Taiwan, 'Weak Hero' takes over Netflix worldwide upon Season 2's release
Kim Ji Hoon (Flower of Evil, Death's Game) transforms into a charismatic king in The Haunted Palace.
The Haunted Palace is a fantasy drama that follows Yeo Ri (Bona), the only granddaughter of a famous shaman who refuses to accept her fate as a spirit medium, and Yoon Gap (Yook Sung Jae), who becomes possessed by an imugi, which is related to Yeo Ri, as they confront a vengeful spirit harboring a deep grudge against the royal family.
In the K-drama, Kim Ji Hoon takes on the role of Lee Jung, a king who faces off against a vengeful spirit bearing a grudge against the royal family.
Lee Jung is a wise and virtuous ruler who prioritizes his nation and people above all else. As king, he firmly upholds his beliefs, refusing to allow shamans to enter the palace, as their presence is strictly forbidden by law.
However, as unsettling incidents continue to plague the palace, Lee Jung joins forces with his trusted subject, Yoon Gap (Yook Sung Jae), and Yeo Ri (Bona), whom Yoon Gab has brought with him. Together, they battle against the spirit, with the destiny of the nation at stake.
The stills offer a glimpse of Kim Ji Hoon dressed in a red dragon robe (royal robe), exuding the charisma of a king who has survived the relentless power struggles within the palace. In one of them, Kim Ji Hoon can be sitting on the throne with a tense expression.
In the drama, strange occurrences within the palace lead his character to form an unlikely alliance with imugi Yoon Gap and shaman Yeo Ri. What could be the true identity of the entity that has instilled fear even in the king?
The production team of The Haunted Palace stated, "Kim Ji Hoon, who has showcased an unrivaled aura in his previous works and established himself as an irreplaceable actor, will once again radiate a powerful aura in The Haunted Palace as the charismatic monarch Lee Jung."
