Actress Kim Ji Won was reportedly picked to lead another K-drama by a renowned director and writer.

On October 29, media outlets stated that Kim Ji Won will be the muse of director Kim Hee Won and writer Jung Seo Kyung in the upcoming K-drama Detective Park Mi Ok. According to reports, writer Jung Seo Kyung was already writing the K-drama with Kim Ji Won in mind to star.

Detective Park Mi Ok will tell the story of Korea's first female detective, inspired by the real-life Park Mi Ok.

The upcoming K-drama will be the next joint work of director Kim Hee Won (Vincenzo) and writer Jung Seo Kyung (The Handmaiden). This year, the two worked together for the hit Disney+ K-drama Tempest. They also worked together for the 2022 series Little Women

If Kim Ji Won confirms her casting, this will also be her reunion with director Kim Hee Won. They previously worked together in the hit 2024 K-drama Queen of Tears.  

With a female lead, writer, and director, the project is sparking great public interest and anticipation. 

As of now, the official premiere date and the names of any additional cast members for Detective Park Mi Ok have yet to be announced.

Kim Ji Won's follow-up work after the successful 2024 K-drama Queen of Tears will be the upcoming series Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia. She will work alongside Lee Jung Eun, Son Hyun Joo, and Kim Woo Seok in the 2026 K-drama.

According to reports, Kim Ji Won will begin working on Detective Park Mi Ok after filming for Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia concludes. 

Kim Ji Won is best known for starring in the K-dramas My Liberation Notes, Lovestruck in the City, Arthdal Chronicles Part 1-3, Fight for My Way, Descendants of the Sun, The Heirs, and more.
