Q, EXY & more confirmed for new horror K-movie
Kim Soo Hyun is set to make his first official public appearance since resuming his activities, marking his full-fledged return to the entertainment industry.
On August 10, GOLDMEDALIST said that Kim Soo Hyun will attend the live broadcast special "Mahakarya RCTI 37", commemorating the 37th anniversary of Indonesian television network RCTI, as a special guest on August 23 (local time) in Jakarta, Indonesia.
"Mahakarya RCTI 37" is a special program hosted by Indonesian private broadcaster RCTI to commemorate its 37th anniversary. Kim Soo Hyun will participate in the program alongside some of Indonesia’s actors and singers, and has planned to meet with local fans.
This appearance is drawing attention as it will mark Kim Soo Hyun's first public appearance since recently resuming his activities.
Previously, Kim Soo Hyun suspended his activities, including dramas and advertisements, after controversy surrounding the late actress Kim Sae Ron erupted in March last year, and has continued to pursue legal action.
Kim Se Eui, the representative of the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute (HoverLab), had continued to raise allegations, including that Kim Soo Hyun had been in a relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron since she was a minor.
Kim Soo Hyun subsequently filed a criminal complaint against Kim Se Ui, the operator of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute (HoverLab), accusing him of defamation through the public dissemination of false information, among other charges, over the allegations.
The court reportedly issued an arrest warrant for Kim Se Ui on charges including defamation, violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, making threats, and attempted coercion.
Prior to this, Kim Se Ui claimed during a YouTube broadcast on May 20, "The National Forensic Service determined that the recording cannot be considered AI-manipulated," adding that "the police's warrant request is intended to block the exposure of a prominent politician's sexual crime case in Vietnam."
Recently, police decided not to refer the case involving Kim to prosecutors concerning reported violations of the Child Welfare Act.
Kim Soo Hyun recently resumed his activities after about a year, beginning with filming a commercial for a Philippine fashion brand and activities on social media (SNS). With his upcoming schedule in Indonesia, he will make his first official public appearance involving a meeting with fans, taking one step closer to his possible return to the screen.
