Chinese netizens beat Dispatch in leaking pics from Ok Taec Yeon's wedding
Park Jin Young and Roh Jeong Eui revealed they tried to match with the webtoon characters as closely as possible.
On the morning of February 11, a press conference for the upcoming Channel A drama The Witch was held in Seoul. The event was attended by director Kim Tae Gyoon and actors Park Jin Young, Roh Jeong Eui, Lim Jae Hyeok, and Jang Hee Ryung.
Discharged from the military last November, Park Jin Young returns to the small screen with The Witch. At the conference, he shared, "We actually finished filming two years ago. I shot my scenes before enlisting, but the drama is being released now after my discharge." He continued, "I'm definitely nervous, but I'm also very happy. I'm thrilled to have completed my service, and now that the drama is coming out too, my happiness has only grown."
Park Jin Young also talked about his efforts to align with the lead character in Kang Full's original webtoon from which the K-drama is adapted, stating, "Since the webtoon is the original work, I had to refer to it quite a bit."
He continued, "I talked to the makeup team and costume team, and also had discussions with the director about how to bring Dong Jin to life. I tried on different types of glasses. Our drama is a kind of project for which a lot of discussion took place."
Roh Jeong Eui also expressed, "I also tried to create the atmosphere, look, and tone of speech that I had imagined." She added, "In terms of appearance, I wanted my character to closely match the webtoon's as much as possible. The makeup and costume teams worked really hard."
Director Kim Tae Gyoon said, "The Witch was made by bringing together all my [wisdom from my] personal relationships. If I were to give a small reveal, actor Ju Ji Hoon makes an appearance. He was even more immersed in this role than in our previous project, Dark Figure of Crime. Apart from him, more other actors, including Jin Seon Kyu, will make guest appearances in each episode. I believe this will be another exciting aspect for viewers to look forward to. Please give the drama lots of love."
The Witch follows Dong Jin (Park Jin Young), who strives to break the curse of misfortune surrounding Mi Jung (Roh Jeong Eui), a woman labeled as a witch. Mi Jung is a woman who has cut herself off from the world due to the misfortunes that follow her wherever she goes.
The Witch premieres on February 15. The K-drama will be available to stream on Viki.
