Spooky in Love is an occult rom-com that follows hotel heiress Cheon Yeo Ri (Park Eun Bin), who can see ghosts, and passionate prosecutor Ma Kang Wook (Yang Se Jong) as they team up to solve cases.
Yang Se Jong plays Ma Kang Wook, the ace prosecutor of the Seoul District Prosecutors' Office. Ma Kang Wook is a character known for his exceptional investigative skills, a strong sense of justice, and empathy.
With his determination to pursue a case to the very end once he becomes invested in it, and his upright character, he is a prosecutor respected throughout the organization. Refusing to bow to power or cartels, he even pursues unsolved cases. However, after encountering a suspicious woman at a crime scene one day, he undergoes an unexpected change.
Moreover, Ma Kang Wook — who is more afraid of ghosts than anything else in the world — suddenly gains the ability to see spirits, turning his everyday life completely upside down. After he begins seeing ghosts, a series of strange incidents unfolds one after another. At the same time, the question arises: why was he given this ability in the first place?
The stills released by the production team capture the change in Ma Kang Wook's life after he gains the ability to see ghosts. In one image, he is seen shouting through a megaphone while riding a golf cart, showcasing the drive and bold determination of a passionate prosecutor in pursuit of a suspect. In contrast, other images show him collapsing in shock as though he has witnessed something unexpected, or standing his ground with a clenched fist while confronting something in the empty space.
Spooky in Love premieres on July 18.
