Honestly, when I was watching Everlasting Longing, I find Angelababy and Song Wei Long partnership odd.  It's like watching a jie-di qing C-drama.  She is way too old for Song.  

Plus The Double too.  I couldn't enjoy the drama at all because it didn't work for me.  In fact, the man who was her husband was better with Wu visually.  Age gap between older female actress and younger male actors doesn't work if the males look way too young for the female actors.  If he looks older, that's great.  Otherwise, the drama will end up being a jie-di qing drama.

But, age gap of 10 years between older male actors and young female actors works  in ancient C-drama.  After all, the plot is based on young romance or shao-nian ai or shao-nian fuji.

It's always the Chinese social perception on the relationship between man and woman.  Men will always be older than women in intimate relationships.

I saw you complaining on the article about TPOB and then you have to make a discussion here about LYN's age? If you have a problem with this, then you should stay away from the drama and not be a shit stirring stick. :)

In this drama, Wei Shao is a warrior aged 22 but he looks more mature for his age because of years of fighting.   And, he is also a big man.

Asians also look young compared to Westerners.

I can't requote your first reply to me so I just went with this.. I honestly did enjoy The Double too but only for the plot.. I love revenge plot that's why.. but I honestly can't also watch an older women younger man drama specially if you can really tell their age gap.. its okay for me if you can't tell though.. and yes older men and younger women pair up works cause that's how the plot for ancient drama works.. also for this LYN doesn't even look old.. 

In this case it's literally an age gap relationship - I don't think she was even born when he went to war with his family and they all died.
