For me, one of the best characters in this is Wei Liang He was the bravest of them all though silly at times. He never sided the bad guys, which earns him extra hero points. I first fell for his charm when Qiao Man stuck in the rain Wei state, and who first stood for her? That’s right, our, lovable goofball Wei Liang! As the story, I couldn’t help but admire how brilliantly he a strong yet delightfully playful character.

The chemistry between him and Xiao Tiao? Absolute gold. He was practically her prisoner; they gave us far more laughs and warmth than any second couple had the right to. I mean, they stole the show with their banter and unexpected tenderness. got so attached to this character—how not? He always helped his companions, if he acted like he didn’t want to. Let’s be honest, his reluctance was just part of charm. And his bond with Qiao Ci was also remarkable.

Wei Liang could easily be the main character. Losing him was like a punch to the face. So, I am, creating this for everyone to share how much they loved him, how mesmerized they were by his antics, and to keep his memory alive for years to come Rest in peace, you lovable, hero. We’ll never forget you!

Share How y'all feel about this character.

i still can believe they just let a comic relief character die :( it's quite unusual isn't it

Someone said in the novel he doesn’t die and XiaoTao doesn’t exist. So I’ll just use my imagination that he recovered

Till the end I was just expecting him to pop up and they finding out an excuse of how he didn't die. They could have said he was stabbed but it hit the metal plate xiaotao gifted him 😭😭

they were the delightful playful couple and came in a close second for me to our leads.

Wei Liang best boy! He is the kindest general in the drama.  Always so good natured and he doesn’t get upset when the rest of the generals tease him.

Wei Liang was the kindest, the bravest, and the most loving of all the generals.

Although I am thankful that our main couple got a happy ending, I can't fully enjoy it because Wei Liang's death affected me so much.

I was heartbroken :< it ended so fast...he died just like that. there could have been plenty of ways for the writers to save him, unfortunately they just killed him off aaaahhhh

I’m happy he experienced the giddiness of love

I was silently weeping in the office (thanks to my boss who is away i can sneak in), when all the generals are watching the moon, and thought to myself that I can sense they will kill Wei Liang's character. But I am not prepared, when I saw Wei Liang hanging, I secretly prayed to the Drama Gods that he's still alive, but well the screenwriters are cruel. I totally cried when the remaining generals and Xiao Tao visited his grave. Waaah, they wrote the side characters pretty well!

All the writers who contributed to that plot line ending should be banned from ever writing another drama!  Such gratuitous slapping of all of us in the face. No excuse for the way that ended- it was simply done to pull at our heartstrings and make us weep.  They created the most lovable character, and cast the perfect actor to play the role....then boom.  Shame  on the writers....shame on them all.  They ruined the whole drama by  creating  such a cheap end to such a lovable character.  Shame on them.

i loved wei liang. i loved the way he blushed and giggled in his hands when xiaotao said something sweet or when the generals teased him. i loved his eyebrow raises and side eyes whenever wei shao and the generals were being dumb. Love the way he was so oblivious to xiaotao wanting an orchid for their marriage. Loved the way he wanted to go on a double date with manman and wei shao. loved the way he was dancing and jumping from happiness when they saw the ''purple'' sea.

He deserves a better ending, i hoped he'd at least die during battle but no, man died fighting so the truth could safely reach wei shao, the only reason there is a happy ending is because wei liang was a true warrior and an amazing general. periodt.

I love the scenes of him trying to improve main couple's relationship by recommending some (supposed to be) romantic tourist spot. I imagine before manman his innocence and naivevity is the source of color in weishao's dark life..  it even game me a good laugh as viewer..
