What happens to Ci? Does he return to Yanzhou? Does he marry? Etc.

I feel like he felt something for Xiaotao after Wei Liang’s death, be it pity or a crush.

I don't think it's a crush. I think it's guilt. He was the last person to see her lover alive. The burden of that must weigh heavy on him and he probably wanted to comfort her but didn't know how since he is just a kid.

After rewatching i feel the same

Nope, nothing of that. From what I remember, Wei Liang was alive and well in the novel. He already had a wife and his mum wasn't well. When Wei Shao sent Wei Liang to deliver gifts to the Qiao family after Feifei was born, Xiao Qiao's uncle attacked Wei Liang. He lost his arm and barely made it out alive.

Later on, Xiao Qiao appointed Wei Liang as Qiao Ci's trainer since he could no longer serve as a military general due to his wounds and age. Xiao Qiao, along with her dad, hand over Yanzhou to the Wei's as a compensation for attacking Wei Liang's envoy. And also cauz there's no one left to defend the city anymore and it's safer in Wei Shao's hands. Eventually, Qiao Ci takes over the Qiao family. At the end, Qiao Ci ends up guarding one of the empire's borders, north maybe? Can't remember. No word on who he married.

And Wei Liang as well, I think, get's his own border to guard while Wei Shao and Xiao Qiao become emperor and empress.

Xiaotao didn't exist in the novel. Chuniang, Xiaotao's mom and Xiao Qiao's wet nurse, had already lost her daughter in the novel and that was one of the reasons why she loved Xiao Qiao as her own. Can't remember the other Wei generals either. Maybe a passing mention but nothing to major, like in the drama.
