Am I the only one who feels terrible character development after watching E24-25?

I can count several reasons why she didn't tell Sang Yan the first time when all the bad things were happening to her and decided to run away to Yihe. I can feel sorry for her.

But this time, as soon as she came back to the apartment with wet hair and hugged Sang Yan, I predicted that she might try to do the same, and I was really hoping that it would not happen and the writer would prove me wrong. This would be terrible character development, as she's now an adult, a freaking news reporter who has seen gore, blood, death, and all kinds of other scenarios - not to mention the rape attempt that happened earlier, and she went to the police twice.

Now Sang Yan is not only her boyfriend, but he kept reminding her that she can tell him anything and he will not leave her no matter what. Yet she decided to do the same thing. It's like going back to zero. Yes, we're seeing her backstory, but this backstory doesn't justify what she did this time. My point is that she should not be the same weak Wan Yifan from high school.

Also, I hate the trope: "I love you but I won't tell you anything. I'm going to save you by sacrificing/leaving, and I don't care how terrible you feel when I'm gone."

no i think that scene was just right and necessary, she hasn't seen her uncle in so long, and obviously shes affected from the past trauma, and the fact that he seeks out for sang yan and even sues his gastropub. hes obviously slandering the both of them and she is looking out for him, even if i have to agree it made me very frustrated. the first time she flew was to escape because she was young and couldnt face it, and this time its because she has the ability to ´protect' sang yan. plus the aftermath of her disappearing in hk reasonates a lot, i mean, she got to rebuild herself on her own, study, work, dance, she found herself again, and she also learnt about how much sang yan is needed in her life. plus it gave a chance for sang yan to actually go and learn more about her past

Leaving someone broken and devastated isn't looking out for someone, nor is it protecting them when you know what happened to him the first time and how he spent all those years. She could have left again if that uncle came around episode 5 or something for the sake of old times, as she wasn't in a relationship and wouldn't want to get him involved for no reason, but not this far into the series. Sorry to say, but your argument doesn't make sense. Maybe you should read my post again. She went through hell even after that uncle incident. Leaving Sang Yan again without saying a word was like going back to square one and proving that she's still the same weak Wan Yifan from high school. I like this drama, but this Hong Kong leaving storyline still left a bad taste in my mouth that I can't get rid of. If they had skipped this whole leaving part, this could have been a perfect show for me with 25 episodes, the same as Hidden Love.
