Novel Finished

I just randomly checked and apparently, the novel is finished. The ending is different compared to the drama. I just wanted to share for anyone interested. The link is here: https://novellumina.com/series/chasing-the-moon/

Wow this ending is such an open ending. Personally for me I love the drama ending as it gives a happier closure for my favourite pairing. But each to their own. In the novel at least Yuemi and Tianqi can meet and be together again even when this together is implied offscreen. I don't really feel satisfied with this ending since it left the readers wanting more... for the main pairing...

i'll stick to the drama's ending. I kinda like how tragic yet poetic Jing Yuan and Xing Yue's story is. It feels more layered and beautiful in the targic way.
Coming to Chong Zhao and Fu Ling --- i don't understand why BS and CZ are still clinging onto each other. BUTTTT WORST PART IS TO READ "SHE KILLED FAN YUE WITH HER OWN HANDS " AND HE FELT BETRAYED. LIKE WTFFFFFF🙂🙂🙂🙂
I don't mind the deaths in the drama. They were all tragic and traumatic on the heart but they were necessary to drive the plot. 

With how I understood just by reading the final chapter is that Fan Yue is Tian Qi's tribulation and Bai Shuo is Yuemi, and Bai Shuo needed to go through that in order to return to being Goddess Yuemi in the end .

When Bai Shuo killed Fan Yue and said that "No one is allow to hurt CZ" , I didn't like her for that but since she was being controlled then it is easier to forgive her on my side here 

In the end, Tian Qi went back to the God Realm but realized that Yuemi had left and went to the lower realms so he was sad that even after returning she didnt want to see him again. When Shang Gu(Chief God) revealed to Tian Qi what Yuemi said before she(Yuemi) left for the lower realm that being Bai Shuo wasn't so bad after all meaning Yuemi didn't dislike the time she spent with him(Fan Yue) as Bai Shuo(during their tribulation), so that gave Tianqi hope where he followed her to the lower realm and they both met each other again. 

It was implied they will be together offscreen but that ending left me so unsatisfied for their open ending... I too prefer the drama ending better because we got the happy conclusive and satisfying ending for our beloved main pairing and a hopeful ending for the side characters.

Wow thanks for sharing, I was debating whether to read the novel or not. But it seems like the drama is the better version in this case, which is very rare and just shows to how good the drama is. 

I definitely saw some elements of Ancient Live Poetry with the reincarnations. When I was watching, I really liked how the emphasis was Bai Shuo and Fan Yue, and not on Xing Yue/Jing Yuan. I thought they were gonna follow Qing Mu and Hou Che steps again, and that left a very bad taste in my mind from ALP.  

As tragic as Jing Yuan/Xing Yue ending is, I definitely felt fitting and leaves us with a bittersweet ending. Knowing the possibilities that they are together somewhere in sky.

Yeah I also wouldn't want and was afraid it will go the Qing Mu and Hou Chi route again. This is why for me I was happy with how the drama handled that part in terms of reincarnation side of things because honestly to me, I saw that both Jing Yuan and Xing Yue got their happy ending in their next life as Fan Yue and Bai Shuo where they can be free and happy. 

Even when Jing Yuan knew and accepted that Bai Shuo is Bai Shuo in this life, I love how Jing Yuan handled the whole situation in the end because it really showed me he still cared for Bai Shuo in his own way and wants her to be happy and protected.
