Also- I think The Blossoming Love was one of the rare exceptions where the drama was better than the novel. And the novel was quite good. (expect the very last arc- the novel def did a better job with that)

Thank you for the insightful and lovely summary.  I know this is not realistic, but I would love a happy ending for everyone in the drama. All of the side characters who are friends/allies with Yuan Zhong and Tan Yi have grown on me so much especially Xia Qian Lin and A Xue.

I would have preferred the novel ending… why do they do that to us?!? We can’t infer she comes back in a form of a body- cause most haven’t read the novel to even know that happened at the end. So I have to infer that the director also didnt choose that to happen as well. Ugh…

I haven't watched it yet. And I read the comments. Since I've already read the book and watched the anime, to be honest, it's the same ending as the book and the anime, but even more implicit. (a happy ending that isn't shown, but we have to imagine it). 1- In the book, we have to imagine when he wakes up and sees her there. 2- In the anime: He saw her, but we don't see her face, we only see his smile. 3- In the drama. Their reunion after her death is not shown, (but it is foreshadowed that they will meet), so we have to use our imagination.
PS: But I wish they had improved this "happy ending" (to be explicit). They kept the "implicit" sense of happiness (to be imagined).

Okay- adjustment… it might be indicated that the 5 Weapon spirit come back because of ML’s power. we do see Xiu as a child again running around and I think it may be the female Weapon spirit. And rewatched the last scene… it does indicate female lead promises to come back- but without reading the novel. I would have assumed it still meant that she would come back in various forms to always be with ML as explained by the elder. But because I read the novel, I know it may mean as a person…

Wow that’s pretty ridiculous; does FL vanish in the last episode after the war? How do they not keep the second couple together, making her old? What’s the point? All villains bite the dust I hope. No redemption arcs for them?
