Baiyinghua1995:
No. Straight romance dramas have A LOT of steamy kissing scenes and they are still ALLOWED. Just look at brutal kissing scenes from Story of Kunning Palace in ep 32 and 36.
They allow forced hot kissing scenes in Kill Me Love Me ep 1. We also have hot bed scenes + passionate kissing scenes from 2 episodes of The Prisoner of Beauty (ep 29 and ep 32).
Many short dramas also have wilder and bold kissing scenes and they went through censorship as well. They allow those intimate scenes.
I saw many fans saying they cut many kiss scenes in the past. I can't remember the drama. Maybe 'She And Her Perfect Husband' was one of them.
I haven't watched Story Of Kunning Palace but I'll check it out for comparison. The Prisoner Of Beauty's kiss scene was ok. I don't mind if they get rid of forced kissing. This is especially a lot in mini cdramas. But this is a fair point if it is passing censors.
After Story of Kunning Palace, they definitely allow those wild, forced, passionate kissing scenes. She and Her Perfect Husband still has a lot of kissing scenes. I don't think they cut anything. It's just a RUMOUR.
Kill Me Love Me forced kissing scene is very sensual and passionate at the same time. It's very hot in ep 1. It also happened when the ML take a bath. KMLM still has another 3 kissing scenes after that. Ep 18 and 32 kissing scenes are also very passionate between ML n FL.
SOKP kissing scenes in ep 36. From brutal to passionate kissing scenes + neck kissing + bed scenes.
No need to remove those forced kissing scenes. It will lead to passionate kissing scenes in later stage. Censorship also allow them. It means NO PROBLEM. Forced kisses are not rape.

Forced kisses are not rape but it is still assault. It is normalising it as romantic or hot which why I dislike it. That is of course a personal opinion. I just prefer when shows depict the importance of consent. That is why I love dramas like She And Her Perfect Husband and dramas with very modern and positive mindsets towards women.
Since BTS kiss scenes were not released or I didn't see them, I can't say for sure if they were anything but rumours either. That was just what I read during my drama watching from other fans related to censorship.
Btw, how do you remember the exact episodes of these kiss scenes? 😂
@ColourMePurple I have very strong memories. I even remember most of kissing scenes episodes in Chinese dramas.
She & Her Perfect Husband still has SO MANY kissing scenes. They didn't cut anything.
Like I said before, forced kisses usually lead to passionate kisses with CONSENT in later stages/episodes. Who said modern dramas don't have forced kisses? THEY HAVE IT AS WELL. Modern dramas also have many forced kisses especially for short dramas. In the other sides, Costume dramas also have many soft kisses and passionate kisses with consent. So it depends on the dramas themselves. The plots and the leads relationship are also affecting the scenes.
Chinese dramas have various types of kissing scenes. From soft kisses, forced kisses, passionate kisses, until hot/wild/steamy kisses.
Love & Redemption ep 52 also had passionate kissing scenes between Cheng Yi and Crystal Yuan.
Ten Miles of Peach Blossom ep 43 brutal forced kisses from Mark Chao and Yang Mi. That's 2017 and censorship ALLOW that brutal kisses.
The King's Woman had multiple forced kisses between Vin Zhang and Dilireba.

Stop making this discussions as battle field for fighting. You are so RUDE. We don't know those "some people" problem in their life. As far as i know, there are NO people who want to commit suicide because of Rebirth dramas. There must be another real reason for sure. Life and death are not playful things. Just fyi, South Korea and Japan have higher suicide rates than China. Just look at how many Korean celebrities and korean common people who committed suicide there. There are so many various reasons why those some people got depressions.
read the previous comment, its clearly written that chinese goverment ban shows cause they just wanted to go to the next world, i don't know its true or not but if someone be it chinese or any other -nese is committing suicide after watching a drama then seriously something is wrong with that community also government usually bans something if it affects lots of people, you said korean and japanese have high suicide rate that's fine but they are not dumb enough to watch a drama and die, cause their govenment has not banned any such drama.
No hate against any community its just that a drama should not decide someone life and if they have any life problems they should fix it instead of watching drama and dying.
@iAmPinkPainsFather:
You can say that Chinese government is reactive and set such strict rules towards censorship, however the intention is to protect and then they also have the authority to do so.
It’s judgemental and narrow view to say that their people are dumb because of the act. There are many reasons that people can be depressed and impulsively to harm themselves after certain media influences. So if their government find that setting a rule of such can be one of the preventive measures, it makes sense for them to do so as they do have a huge population to protect.
I have nothing to say to you pink pains and whatever. Read Megumi replies. I already explained everything but you won't understand. You are the one who dumb enough to judge people like that. You don't know the problem they faced and you don't know how serious their problem is. When you have any anxiety or depressions you will understand how they feel. Chinese people also know life and death is not playful things. They are NOT dumb. They are NOT stupid to take their own life just because of drama.

its fine if government wants to censor it but calling me judgemental and narrow view is just pure evil.
If i see dumb people I'll say they are dumb simple as that, there are all kinds of dumb people doing dumb stuff and government can't ban everything just to protect few dumb people.

if people have anxiety and depression they should take medical help, if they die after watching drama they sure are dumb ducks.
Seriously, you need to chill, don't take it personally.

thanks. While it makes sense for CCP to be overseeing the film industry and setting limits/expectations, the sheer number of these kind of dramas in the recent years kinda makes it a moot point. I saw plenty of both in cdramas with no repercussions. The climate of what is allowed is thawing as more BL dramas are allowed with some rather daring content. Mini dramas are leading the way and so fat they are not censored, and if you watch Douyin or Kuaishou you know what I am talking about.
Actually, since The Untamed and Word of Honor, there have been no pure Chinese BL dramas made. There was a collaboration one made between Thailand and China. I think called Meet Me at Your Blossom, but I don’t think it was released in China., it was only released internationally… there was Justice in The Dark that they started to release, but it only got eight episodes in before it was put on hiatus. I know the excuse was used that it was because copyright infringement because they were using a photo of an actress that they didn’t get permission for, pretty sure that was just an excuse though because they eventually pulled the drama after only eight or so episodes it’s out of 30… the spirealm was initially released on IQIYI before being taken down, it is banned in China and is only officially released to international audiences. if China is really thawing, then it would release their BL dramas like immortality which guaranteed would be pretty water down and really wouldn’t show anything. They would also release their other BL dramas as well but guaranteed that’s not gonna happen because of their view on the LGBTQ community..
