This season was amazing but that being said, the anime is still genuinely 2-3 times better, so I recommend new fans to start from the anime's episode 1 or at least Loguetown. Because the Live Action covered so much in so few episodes, it meant they had to cut out so much anime content. But that wasn't the only issue, many scenes shown in the Live Action were executed much, much, much (!) better in the anime version. E.g. in the anime, it was suggested more explicitly that Dragon was the one who struck the lightning on Buggy to save Luffy from being executed. In the LA this is not as explicitly suggested, so it harms the writing because it comes off as a 'deus ex machina'. But there's so much more examples of this, causing the writing of the LA to seem 'off'. 

TLDR: Watch the anime from episode 1 or at least from Loguetown, especially because the writing is much better. The worldbuilding exposition is much better in the anime too.
