The clips coming out of the filming show a fantastic variety of very compelling content.  Gorgeous scenes, fashion,  people, sets.  Great Acting, dramatic rescues, deep authentic sweetness and emotions, gang fighting, the leads doing Tango and Peking Opera extremely well, parachuting from an airplane,...I'm loving it.  I can deal with some Republican Era tropes--the beautiful suffering --- in moderation if it serves a story well, and it's not over the top. However, scenes like a gun shoved in a traumatized Wang Churan's face and to her head by an unhinged lead isn't entertaining for me.   OK, I guess I'm not their target audience, but I'm an avid fan of Churan, and find it unfortunate they are going to this level. Normalizing this stuff isn't great overall, anyway.
