Episode 10 was amazing, as expected. We're still in for heartwrenching, gut twisting drama in the finale, but we have a whole week to prepare ourselves. 🥹

I'm dropping my favorite scenes and expressions here. There were plenty. We have a stellar cast.

The first 12 minutes of the episode are pure gold. Taiga visits Manami's new apartment, where they have ramen, he falls asleep, and she asks him to move in, if he would like. 😳 His reactions are adorable.

The looks he gives her are so full of love 🥰

Cute Manami with fogged up glasses:

Taiga thinks she's cute too:

But suddenly their ramen date is interrupted by a client's call. Manami's expressions-- priceless. Not. Happy. (Taiga, what were you thinking, taking the call? tsk tsk)

The last straw was his empty phrase of "Ai shiteru, chuu" ("love you, kiss"). 🫠 Manami's face: "are you kidding me?"

Taiga asks Manami if she's angry, and she says No. But she asks him if he will still be a host. He says there's nothing else for him to do. Manami changes the topic, and Taiga falls asleep as he listens to Manami talking about the meaning of his name "Kaoru." This is after he told her earlier that he has trouble sleeping somewhere without his specific pillow. 🤭

But he was just pretending to sleep...

...until they both fell asleep.

More to come!...

When Taiga and Manami wake up in the morning, Manami asks him if he wants to live with her as he's trying to sneak out. Poor guy is shocked. 😆

He's amazed at how brazen sensei has become:

He's worried about what people and Manami's job will say if he moved in with her.

She says she doesn't want to lie and will tell the truth. He thinks it's a bad idea. His expressions! He keeps asking incredulously if she will just say that she wants to be with a host.

Manami is just calmly saying, Yes Yes.

Taiga finally just says, "Enough of this" and storms out. 🤣 Don't worry, he comes back.

Taiga comes right back and opens the door on Manami. He says he'll look for non-host jobs.

Manami's turn to be shocked.

Taiga opens and closes the door multiple times, each time to add a flustered line. "I'll get a non-host job and we can live together. Understand?" Manami is ecstatic.

Taiga and Manami leave for the day and Taiga walks Manami partly to her school. He remarks he hasn't been out so early in a while. He yawns, and then she yawns.

I think it's significant that they're no longer walking under an umbrella like in ep. 6. In fact, Taiga is in direct sunlight with no shade multiple times in this episode.

They part ways, and I love this scene where Manami waves happily and enthusiastically to Taiga, who is a little reserved and unsure.

Just look at her happy face. 👆

The title screen appears while. they both walk away.

I have a couple more scenes left to share later today.

Thank you!  I love love love the Sound of the chalk writing the title.  They do a great job of placing that in a good scene and often it’s also graphically pleasing.  I’m thinking especially the one where she’s sick in bed and her face is soooo pretty as the title is drawn.

I'm skipping the scene where Manami goes to school and pretty much immediately gets sacked for telling the principal that she wants to date Kaoru. The dynamics of this scene were interesting to watch, but I just didn't find anything screen capture worthy.  The annoying assistant went banshee crazy when she heard what Manami said, providing comic relief. The principal/head nun appeared sympathetic when Manami told them the news, but ultimately she firmly asked Manami to resign and lie about why (due to personal family reasons). Manami refused to lie and opted to just leave without saying goodbye to her students. There is a quick scene with Sakura sensei as well, always supportive of Manami. Manami hands over her personal binder of notes on all her students, full of meticulous detail about each one. This part did have me tear up, surprisingly. Manami puts her heart into everything she does, but Taiga is the first one to reciprocate her love the way she needs.

Moving on... there is a funny/intense/omg scene with Kawahara and Manami's dad. Kawahara is getting a promotion while papa is getting disciplined at work. Kawahara is trying to give papa a little bit of encouragement, saying it's okay even if he's losing his post, but Ogawa papa being his domineering self says he will climb back up and pay back everyone that "framed" him. Kawahara's face in response to that was pretty much mine HAHA 👇

And then, OMG. Kawahara continues to try to talk papa out of his delusions by saying sometimes it's okay to give up, and he brings up Manami and how Kaoru is good for her. This obviously doesn't go well with papa. Kawahara continues and TELLS papa that he shared Manami's new address with Kaoru and tried to hook them up. He said this rather proudly, but Ogawa papa was having none of it. Finally it ends with Kawahara just shouting that he's no better than Kaoru and escapes. I was both highly entertained and mortified by this scene.

👆 This Kawahara What's-His-Name. I don't know what to do with him. LOL

There is a scene where Taiga has asked Tsubasa to meet him at a cafe outdoors. It's a nice bright sunny scene, another one where Taiga has no UV protection. Tsubasa and Taiga reminisce about the Joker and how life was just easier in that fantasy paradise where they were basically royalty.

Taiga asks Tsubasa if he has a real girlfriend, and Tsubasa wonders why he's asking. "Why, did you find someone you like?" Taiga spits out his drink and confides that he has been asked to move in with someone, and he's not sure what to do because he's worried for her sake.

Tsubasa says Taiga must really care for her if he's worried. Taiga says he wishes he could just say "I love you" but that it's difficult because it's not like when he's role playing/acting his host persona. This is significant because Taiga easily says "I love you" to his clients because they are empty words, but when it comes to saying it sincerely to the one he actually loves, he finds it difficult.

I'm skipping over the scene where Manami tells her mom over the phone about being with Taiga, and her mom is being supportive. But papa overhears and gets angry. Finds Taiga's hat in Manami's closet and stomps on it. But mom tries to stop him. This was such an upsetting scene.

Then we have Momoko visiting Manami at the new apartment when Taiga comes over too. Momoko is supportive of them (Manami, really), and spooks Taiga. 🤣

Momoko: "If you make her cry, I will end you." 🔪

Momoko leaves the two lovebirds alone.

Manami tells Taiga that she decided to quit her job because the school never put their trust in her. Taiga is super upset because he knows she got fired because she told them she wanted to start a relationship with him.

They argue about why she wouldn't lie about their relationship.

Their argument ends when the circuit breaker is tripped and her apartment goes dark. Taiga teaches Manami about circuit breakers, saying she wouldn't know about them because she's only lived in a posh house before and never a shared housing like this.

In the dark, Taiga lifts Manami up to reach the circuit breaker, and they fall down after she turns the electricity back on.

They get comfortable on the floor, and Manami tugs on his shirt, saying "I want to be by your side, that's all."

Taiga gets flustered, not knowing how to respond.

They get up for a reading and writing lesson. 😉

Taiga practices reading a menu with Manami because he wants to apply for a restaurant server job. Then they move on to practice writing. He tells Manami that before she started teaching him, he would avoid words (kanji). Now when he sees kanji, he does the opposite, and he tries to read it.

He happily takes out the red pencil from sensei.

He shyly starts to write with concentration.

Manami looks on lovingly.

He finishes writing the first sentence and shows it to Manami nervously. He's got his heart in his eyes as he watches Manami's reaction.

He had written "I want to be by your side, too." Manami loves it, and writes back "thank you."

He continues writing.

He asked if she wanted some wine.

Yes!

He writes back, "Ya, cheers!" Then...

At that moment, the doorbell rings. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thank you so much for all of your hard work!!

 nikki_xp:

Thank you so much for all of your hard work!!

Aww you're welcome! Not hard work at all when I love the drama so much 😉

So the last scene, I didn't do a lot of caps. Mainly because it was tough to watch Ogawa-papa pushing Taiga down. 😭

Ogawa-papa shows up and asks Taiga to leave when Taiga greets him nicely. Papa starts yelling and shouting that Taiga has put his family and life into a mess (sorry, recalling and majorly paraphrasing from memory). Taiga is getting angry (rightly so) but he only intervenes physically when papa takes hold of Manami's shoulders and starts shaking her. Papa then shoves Taiga down and tells him don't even think about coming over to Manami's side.

Taiga clenches his fists but eventually releases his anger. Ogawa papa seems to approve of this, and he says that Taiga needs to prove himself through effort, and to attend a vocational school so that he can get a decent job.

Taiga seems to hang on to the idea of school.

Papa also seems to be giving in a little as he looks back at Manami.

Papa leaves, and Manami is crying. Taiga pulls himself up and asks why she's crying. He asks if she's giving up on him yet. He says he will do it. He will. 😭

EP 10 END

And then Episode 11 previews... Be warned, they are EMOTIONAL. Scenes of Taiga crying, Manami crying, they are separated, they return to the beach... I'm only sharing the happy scenes LOL

This is the wrap photo for Kimura Fumino and Raul, from their last filmed scenes, at Miura Beach. Such a beautiful couple 🫶🏻 [sources: https://mdpr.jp/drama/4645805 , https://www.fujitv.co.jp/aino_gakkou/news/news11.html]

The subs are a little off here, what he actually says is that he's scum too which was so funny. I never expected to love Kawahara this much. And the actor is fantastic.

The way Momoko pulled him allllllll the way down to her level was so funny

I found a quote from Fumino Kimura regarding the scene where Misogynistic Daddy challenges Taiga. She said a lot of people praised Misogynistic Daddy but she disagreed. I loved her thoughts on this.
