Short Length Series:

I've selected a variety for you. I've watched and enjoyed them all. Each drama has less than 55,000 watchers on MDL:

Genres: Mystery, Romance, Wuxia, Fantasy

Joy of Life is so well written and acted. There are currently two season with another on the way. I really didn't find it romantic, but that's what the tag says.

Genres: Historical, Romance, Drama

  • Blossoms in Adversity features a woman fending for the Hua family when the men are forced into exile.

  • The Story of Ming Lan has 78 episodes, but don't let that dissuade you from watching. It's worth it.

  • Fated Hearts has enemies relying on one another to uncover a conspiracy. Great visuals.

  • The Prisoner of Beauty is an enemies-to-lovers tale. Clan enemies pledge to marry their children to bring peace. The bride and groom are understandably wary of one another.

  • The Double is a delicious story of a woman bent on revenge who is aided by the inimitable Duke Su.

Genres: Historical, Romance, Fantasy

  • Love in the Clouds starts out with the ML and FL trying to outsmart and outmaneuver one another. I found that part entertaining. The drama lagged a bit in places, but it always picked up again. Besides, it features Hou Ming Hao as Ji Bo Zai. (If you enjoy this drama, try Back from the Brink, also featuring Hou Ming Hao, though as a dragon. It's not a perfect drama—too long and too many loose ends—but it worth it to watch an angry baby dragon trying to incinerate people with tiny spurts of flame.)

  • When Destiny Brings the Demon is a reincarnation drama with four lifetimes, which means there are plenty of dying scenes. Not recommended for the angst-averse.

  • Blossom begins with the ML and FL on opposing sides. Their slow journey toward one another was rewarding to watch. It's always a pleasure to watch two intelligent, loving leads.

Genres: Comedy, Romance, Supernatural

The Day of Becoming You is a sweet modern romcom with a delectable OST.

How Dare You!? is a costume drama that begins fast and frenetic with lots of comedy, but it evolves into something deeper. The leads are striking, the sets scrumptious, and the cinematography rich.

Genres: Mystery, Business, Romance, Drama

Love between Lines is a modern romance set in a murder mystery game. Set two appealing, intelligent leads in a virtual reality world that is fashioned after the Chinese Republican Era and watch a pleasurable slow-burn romance.

Genres: Thriller, Mystery, Sci-Fi

Reset is a time-loop adventure that never feels overly repetitious. Each time loop reveals more or the characters learn more, so it doesn't drag.

Genres : Mystery, Horror, Fantasy

The Spirealm features a dangerous virtual reality game.

Genres: Comedy, Drama, Sports, Supernatural

Hikaru no Go is never recommended by anyone else (or so it seems!), but it's an amazing coming-of-age tale all about playing the game Go. I know that sounds incredibly dull, but the young actors did an amazing job.

Absolute Boyfriend

For everyone I recommend this one. I believe this drama is not too popular just because it is Taiwanese.

ML is super handsome actor. I think this is his hottest role.

It is funny, easy to watch, romance, beautiful songs, unique. Catching from first episode or two.

It is an amazing drama!
