I was watching a Chinese short drama on YouTube that was taken down by Kuaikan International (copyright claim). The YouTube video title was: “The graceful man falls into despair and becomes the princess’s companion#minidramas” — but I don’t know the original Chinese title. It’s a historical/costume drama.
Plot details
• The FL is a young girl who is sold by her family to work as a maid for the Fu family, a family of scholars/academics/researchers.
• On her first day, she meets the eldest son of the Fu family, who is very kind and gentle. She then works as a maid to his younger sister, who is still a child and likes her very much.
• A princess of the dynasty becomes obsessed with the eldest son and wants to force him into her harem (male harem/male consort situation).
• The Fu family heir escapes with the help of the maid. Because of this, the entire Fu family is arrested/imprisoned.
• The FL escapes with the youngest daughter of the Fu family and raises her in hiding, pretending to be sisters.
• The eldest son is eventually captured by the princess to serve in her harem, BUT he is actually on a secret mission with the Crown Prince to overthrow the princess.
• After many twists and struggles, they succeed in defeating the princess.
• The eldest son is appointed as a minister, and in the end, he and the FL (the maid) get married.
Other details I remember
• The FL’s name might translate to “ashes” according to the subtitles, she references this a few times, but it might actually be embers.
• The family surname is Fu .
• It was available on YouTube before being taken down by Kuaikan International
• It’s a vertical drama
