Hi, it's been a long time since I watched this drama, so I don't remember it clearly, but I remember that at first it looks like Hu Ge's character is the ML. They fell in love with each other and Wei Wuji is like a second male lead, but later she has to give up on her first love and starts falling for Wuji. She ends up with him and their romance is beautiful and they have great chemistry. That's what I remember :) But I myself did skip some of the firsts episodes with Hu Ge, because I was bored and frustrated with their romance too. Try skipping some. The later episodes are definitely worth watching.
