Quantcast

one of the main things that fades my interest for Chinese dramas is the voice dubbing. After watching a few dubbed ones I get so tired of hearing almost the same dubbed voices over and over again. Now I know that they usually have to do this, but some dramas are live recorded or at least the actor's re dubbed their voices.

I prefer historical romance dramas, but those are more likely to be dubbed so moderner ones are fine too

These are dramas that have at least the leads recording their own voices but they are also romantic historical dramas that I really enjoy and totally recommend.

Story of Ming Lan - The main cast all redub their own voices. It's a realistic historical romance too. I didn't know it was dubbed the first time I watched it, the actors and technical team do a really good job in this one.

Ashes of Love - There is dubbing in this one with voice actors however, the main three Yang Zi (she usually uses her own voice in most of her drama), Deng Lun, and Luo Yunxi record their own voices.

Royal Nirvana - The leads record their own voices, not sure about the rest of the cast.

When We Were Young (2018) - Not a historical, but a nostalgic school romance drama where I believe most of the cast do their own voices.

Lighter & Princess

To Fly With You

Historical Romance Dramas (Self dubbing)

Love Like The Galaxy

Because of Meeting You. Only drama where I have seen different dialects in single show.

Love between fairy and devil - Esther Yu dubbed her own voice in the drama but the rest were dubbed by other actors I believe. Dylan Wang uses his voice in the drama when their characters (Orchid and DFQC) are swapped.

Here's my list of C-drama Historicals with no dubbing.  You can check it out.

Yang Zi always dubbed herself. Luo Yunxi as well. So you might pick whatever drama they are in.
