Florentina:

The hide and seek (like most prompts for this challenge) has a rec list linked to it.

I usually don't watch titles to fit the prompts. I watch titles and see if they can fit somewhere in the challenge. I had already checked the list and there weren't any shows/movies that I wanted to watch or rewatch.  We've been given options of alternate prompts so if I don't find a title that fits the requirements, I'll just replace the prompt.

Reason I'm not rewatching is because I already have a lot that I want to watch. Thank you for linking the list though. 😊

 Pinwheel:

Hey, so this is a few days late but perhaps it could help you still. On your MDL settings there's a tab called Widgets where you can select "completed" titles and it will show you the most recent titles you've marked as complete, you can decide how many. It's not a perfect list, because if you change the rating of previously completed titles, those will also show as recently completed. But it works for me when I don't remember what I've watched recently or even a few months ago.

Good tip. I use this all the time.

Though if you make any changes to your title like changing the rating of an old title, it moves up in the completed list so it's not absolutely perfect but it's still very helpful.

I am also doing a 52 dramas in 2025 challenge and I just include every title and update it as I go. It is also very helpful in knowing what I watched and when. But of course, that's manual labour. 😂

ooh I didn't think of that. Personally I can't be bothered to hunt down titles like that (or if a title just happens to fit a prompt) because time is limited and all. That is, the likelihood of all the prompts for the 26 blocks to be completed like this is quite low imo. This is how I ended up with so many new titles in my list (but I took a "shortcut" and chose movies and short films only, for the most part) but I'm not complaining. This way I can expand my genre and theme watching by a lot.

For some titles that are rare or I'm not interested in like political genre in previous years or LGBT titles which I had never watched before a few years ago, I would check the list and see what interested me. But last year I got fairly lucky. I watched what I wanted and it fit for the most part. I don't plan on completing all the prompts this year. I'm doing a maximum of 20 blocks because I am anticipating a hectic time ahead so it doesn't matter to me if I don't find every title.

I always start with filling the most difficult categories first and leave the easiest ones for the end. So it works out quite well for me. 😁

As long as it works out for you, that's all that matters. ^^

Yup. So far it has worked well. :)

Whoa, I didn't know about this trick! I mean, I knew about the widget but had no idea it can be used in this way. Thanks a lot for the tip! :D

You're welcome! I'm almost sure I learned about it in the FAQ thread of a past challenge too :D

I am doing the 52 challenge too! And I love how in a glance I have the titles I've watched and when but.... I'm not great at updating it regularly 😅, so that's when the widget helps me to double check if I am missing a title.

Oh, this year this has been my exact approach as well, just watching whatever I want hoping it will fit some of the prompts, trying to complete the difficult ones first. Compared to previous years this time I've needed to take more notes of which prompts can be fulfilled by the titles I watch, so that I can shuffle them if needed, but I've had so much fun this way <3.

Sorry, unable to quote and can't select quote on tablet.

@Pinwheel

Yes the 52 drama challenge is quite helpful but you do have to update regularly. I even added colour codes for each country because last year I messed up in my calculations some how. 😆

The widget is really helpful and you can select titles based on all or completed or another status.

Yup, when we watch what we watch, we have to make a lot of notes. I created a custom list and I keep adding all the prompts the titles fit as I watch or soon after I'm done. I also keep a note on my phone and add titles to each category so I have 2 ways of keeping track what drama fits what category. It's helpful when I want to move stuff around. But it takes a lot of work. More than if I were just picking a title that fits a category. Either way, it is fun. 😁

Hello Good People, I just signed on to MDL on February 28th and just discovered these challenges. How do I find out more information? And how do I sign up? Thanks.

here are the rules, steps to sign up, & everything you need to know :)

Awesome-sauce. Thank you.

1) Does a security guard or a bodyguard count towards 6-5-Maintenance Worker prompt, since they work to maintain the security?

2) 22-1-Parks - Do Amusement parks count? Like in a drama the leads are on a carousel in an amusement park.

3) 24-4-School - Do Colleges or Unis fit this prompt as Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines School as :

1 : an organization that provides instruction: such as
a : an institution for the teaching of children
                b : college, university

4) 25-2-Ruins - A building that's been in a fire with blackened walls that are still standing and no people living inside - can it be considered as ruins?

5) Districts - Old District - Ancient Town - In historical and/or fantasy dramas, there is always a place that's been there for hundreds, if not thousands of years. Like for example, leads reincarnate and come to the same place zillion years later. Do such places count?

Hi, I’m not sure if anyone has asked this already… but does the prompt ‘call a substitute driver’ have to be used in the first round? And can it be used more than once?

Anyone who wants to switch with me, feel free to reach out! 🥰🥰
