10 titles that the official English name is complete different from the original name (and if you could tell which one you think is better fitting and why~)

There are often different versions of titles, as a direct translation is often not possible. So I’m not sure if this fits, but I’d like to list the following:

  1. Guardian: The Lonely and Great God

As far as I know, the original title is “Goblin:…”, (not Guardian) and to me, that makes a big difference. I prefer to see the correct term for him as a mythical creature rather than the translated version, which is surely only used because the translators—or whoever—thought that people around the world knew nothing about goblins. It’s also much easier to recognize that this is a fantasy title; “Guardian” can lead to a misconception (imo)

2. Goodbye My Princess vs 东宫 (Eastern Palace)

I think the english title is too straightforward (straight to the ending), I prefer the Chinese title as most of the conflicts revolve around the crown prince and happen in Eastern Palace (crown prince's residence).

3. Best Choice Ever vs 承欢记 (Story of (Mai) Cheng Huan)

Maybe it's because there's so many drama with FL's name in the title so that they change this one. I think the english title is too vague. Which choice is better, the man (but they don't even think about being married), the job (which is actually being served to her in a plate), or the FL's way of living? Maybe the filial piety?

4. Love o2o vs 微微一笑很倾城 (Wei Wei's One Smile is Very Alluring)

I just know that Love o2o is Love offline to offline. Which is not exactly right for the drama as only a few early episodes they don't meet online.
