6. Link: eat, love,kill- ML father was shown in starting but now he is missing and they didn't showed or talked about FL's father so probably didn't know if he was alive or not. Tell me if this counts or not.

Are you including scenes in the distant past that show both parents? A very common opening scene is the car accident that orphaned the child who grew up to be the ML or FL.
