10 movies/dramas that take all the clichés of your favourite genre and do an amazing job with them.

1. Business Proposal - romance. Rich boy, poor girl. I love how she reacts to the usual "you are too lowly for our son" attitude.

2. Eighth Sense - romance. ML1 is doing the "I'm going to protect you from myself" style withdrawal; ML2 is getting all down and believing the dodgy female's lies; ML2's cool female friend tells him to look deeper than the surface.

Let's see how many different genres we can get. Romance can have a comeback if there is a lag or to finish off the 10 if it has been a few hours since the last post. Looking forward to your replies!

3. Begin Again - Romance, Childhood connection, Rich woman/poor man, Marriage of convenience.

4. Once we get married - romance too. Nothing new about the plot or the scene. But good story telling + good chemistry from the main lead always a winner

5. King the land - I know the romance and rich-boy-poor-girl trope was controversial with this but I personally enjoyed it.

6. Mysterious Lotus Casebook- wuxia (there's the typical hidden identity, adventure common in wuxia, but ChengYi's acting here is top notch. The 3 male leads friendship and dialogues was so fun to watch.  Though sad, Cheng Yi's character might or might not be dead, I appreciated the fact that there wasn't a miracle or a cure like every other wuxia that healed him. He was really ready to die.

7. Player - I liked action and mystery. Also, some hidden motives. And one of my favorite parts is family not by blood, male leads treat FL as their little sister. I really like when characters rescue other characters not because they are their love interest

8. Red Sleeve Cuff - I like ambiguous endings that may be interpreted differently. Here everyone can decide if leads' reunion was a fever dream or ML's loneliness was a nightmare

9. My dearest: it has most commonest cliches: ml and fl meets- falls in love -then separates - missing each other - again meeting - again separating endless loop. And I know they will die at endI am used to such stories, not dramas, but novels.  Yet I cried when they were sad. And I cried when they were happy.
