1. Hi, bye mama - There were a lot of quotes to choose from, but they were all so... sad yet wholesome. I'm probably comparatively young for its target audience, but I gained so many wonderful insights about life in general. I loved that there was no villain or even an "annoying" character, because you could sympathise with everyone. Going through Yuri's journey with her was really nice because we could see the harsh impact of the loss of an "ordinary woman" like Yuri on everyone. A really beautiful kdrama.
"Perhaps the most beautiful thing we can feel in life is telling someone that we love them and thanking someone whom we’re thankful for. I realized it’s a great joy to give and that you end up feeling sorry if you always receive." Yuri
"A woman who lost her husband is called a widow. A man who lost his wife is called a widower. And a kid who lost his parent is called an orphan. But there’s no word for a parent who lost their kid." Shaman
"They only realized what matters in life after they died." Can't remember
"All stepmoms in fairy tales are evil. Stepmoms are moms too." Minjeong (This is so true tho)
"Nobody is born with the knowledge of their final day in this world. Countless deaths pass us by in life, but if it isn’t happening to me now it is considered to be someone else’s heartbreaking drama. The main character of a heartbreaking drama could be my mother, could be my father, or me. In this unpredictable world, there is nothing that won’t happen to me.” Yuri
“Back then, I was cocky enough to think that there was nothing I couldn’t achieve with effort and passion. But there’s a place in life that I can’t achieve or reach with my efforts and enthusiasm alone. After a while I ended up knowing better than anyone else." Minjeong.
2. Tomorrow - There were sooo many important topics discussed in this kdrama and it hits harder when you realise that Ryeon is trying prevent the trauma she went through towards living people. I absolutely love her, she's savage and stands up for herself, but because of her past (ofc). AND ALL OF RYEON'S QUOTES HIT HARDER WHEN YOU KNOW HER STORYY
“Thank you for hanging in there and for not giving up.” Director Tbh kindness is underrated. You never know when you could literally save someone's life.
“People say my scar is disgusting. But compared to the pain I went through? This scar is nothing.” Choi Yun hui
“Do you have any idea what kind of hell it is to part ways without a proper goodbye?” Koo Ryeon
“You cut yourself because you didn’t have anything left in this world that you care about, but you find yourself lingering, realizing the regrets hiding behind the pain.” – Koo Ryeon
“Who wouldn’t feel pain when they’ve been cut with a knife?” – Koo Ryeon
“I know how it feels like your heart is so tattered, there is nothing more to be torn. How no matter how much time passes, you can’t seem to forget, and the memories just become clearer.” Koo Ryeon
“Those who stomp on others don’t remember. Only those who get stomped on remember.” Koo Ryeon
“Don’t try so hard to maintain a body you don’t even want. Your body is yours, not someone else’s. You should love and care for it yourself.” – Choi Junwoong
“Aren’t the bullies who made you suffer for no reason the ones in the wrong? So get up. This isn’t your end.” – Koo Ryeon
“What changes when you die? What does that solve?” – Koo Ryeon I feel like this point is something I've never thought about before.
"As you live, there will come a moment when you realize it was all for today. So live." Koo Ryeon YES
Sorry it was so long
