If you were the costume designer for TOHoMaY, what kind of outfits would you put the ML and other male characters in? We're talking cute, stylish, slutty (as much as you can get away with) outfits that fit the tone of the drama that would still allow it to air. Spam me with some pictures/a vision board and I'll do the same 😊

I almost forgot about this, but I remembered!!!

RR Recs(1).png Okay, so I tried to take into account the character's personality, role, and job while also kinda keeping it within the realm of "if censorship eased like 20% maybe this could air". I also challenged myself to try and find as many male models as I could for ✨ realism ✨

So without further ado... a lil rundown

ML - Went with a more of a softboy/androgynous style that would get progressively cuter and more fem as the drama unfolds. I feel like he'd be pretty awkward at first and would try to dress as masc as possible, but with like, flair (to fit in, ofc, winkwonk) and then the outfits further down are him embracing his pretty kawaiicore, because idk, he seems like that kinda guy to me 😌
ML's bestie - I remember this man being SUCH a diva so I went with that trendy it-girl insta baddie vibes. Lots of bold colors and unusual cuts, cute bags, unbearable shoes, that kinda vibe.
FL's secretary/ML's rival - I feel like this is a style that could actually air with relative ease in like a vertical (it's sooo Wu Tianhao-coded, lol. Man's always in a chanel-style jacket). But yeah, preppy, elegant, "I'm better than you"-core, "trynna bag a millionaire"-core.
ML's brother in law - I remember this poor man being overworked asffff, working a job while raising his two daughters (one unfortunately being his wife, LOL), so I kinda went with a more practical/androgynous style that he tries to spice-up with some pretty patterns to still feel like he can still have nice things 🥺

So yeah, that's what I got. Didn't do make-up because that's not my forte at ALL. Honestly, fashion barely is, but it was a fun challenge! 🙈 Waiting for yours now

I am currently watching this drama. Frankly, woo... FL is too obsessive and domineering. Sometimes it ressembles to madness. I have an hour more to watch.

Let's see if I end up liking her or not.

Wooooooo, this one had been calling to me like a siren for many months, but this slump was making me avoid it, fearing I would not be able to enjoy it as I wanted to.... but then I binged it in one day 🙈

Ok, I just finished this drama and I have to say : it made me go through every emotion.

I was so conflicted. I didn't like that FL was such a violent cruel and possessive yandere, only obsessed with power and getting handsy with ML, yet, I could not hate her that much, because of her personal history in the deep palace. So I was like a dancer, not knowing on what foot starting to walk. So this drama is indeed amazing. It challenged my understanding of the characters, made me hate FL but als o love her at the same time.

I will not elaborate on the violence and the madness FL showcases from time to time. You have to be prepared when you decide to watch this.

As for the love story between the leads. You are right, there are discrepencies between how powerful ML is and the way he acts in front of FL. He should be a powerful immortal but he was more of an observer and an adviser as well as an FL's defender during all the show. This little Princess FL was more poweful than him weirdly.

yes, ML was very cute refusing FL but not using any powerful mean to stop her from chasing him or from throwing herself onto him. Push and pulls and inner conflicted skinships were beautiful to watch.

The acting was stellar and I could really rewatch the drama to catch some elements that I missed. This drama is not one of those "popcorn dramad" you can watch and forget. The characters are well writen and the story in surprising in a lot of aspect. FL was such an hidden fake white lotus overlord and her schemes were well done.

Good also that , they didn't use a lot of ellipsis in this drama. It is great, that we could could watch the entire story. Which is good. Because I hate when in dramas palace attendants just report important element of the plot. And I see that far too often. The only major ellipsis I noticed is the 3rd Prince's private mobilization of the army. We only see him coming back with branches on his back, begging for forgiveness. But it is understandable. We knew already that he was doing someting meaningless. So no problem.

Thanks for the recommendation. It was indeed a real treat, enacted by talented actord and a very good script.

I don't watch a whole lot of airing titles but a lot of interesting RR shows aired this year! Here's of the ones I've watched:

- The Lady Painter - was really good dom FL x sub ML situation. Problematic FL, tho
- Within the Grip - lost its footing by the end but was also a really solid green tea ML x badass FL
- Glory - Good role reversal but very mediocre to outright bad writing. Can't seem to finish it despite how yummy it is

Verticals:
- A Gentleman is like a Mu - 10/10 RR but mid quality overall)
- Bu Liang Ren Zhi Hua Kui Wang Ye Fang Si Ai - more disappointing than I was hoping... but adorable green-tea ML and warrior FL
- The Wedding Mix-Up - AMAZINGLY RR secondary couple!!
- Best Friends' Double Transmigration: Urgent, This Year's Villains Are Hard to Clean Up《闺蜜双穿：急，这届反派不好擦》- Ditto^^
- The Alluring Night《夜色撩人》- actually INSANE dom FL x Sub ML vampire romance
- Pampered: My Sweet Opera Star Husband Is a Young Marshal《豢宠：我的名伶甜夫是少帅》- Another AMAIZNGLY RR watch with enemies to lovers and a badass FL
- The Perfect Lover 《秩序之外＆残次品》- Cute fluffy and interesting warm ML x cold FL

Avoid (I really disliked them):
- Ladies on Top
- Pursuit of Jade
- Unveil: Jadewind
- A Happy Life
- My Adorable Husband《娇夫在下》

Aaaa, I'm so happy to hear that! Yes, FL is a rather complicated and complex character that makes you both love and hate her xD

Agreed! This was well-done and showed complexity for the ML as well as complexity for their dynamic!

Oooo, good point! It really did show us pretty much everything that was going on instead of relying on telling it to us. Good catch
