Heyyyy!Skipper_15:
Hi there! Welcome!
I just previously finished watching flourished peonySkipper_15:
I recently finished it too and LOVED every single ep!!
Good Heavens: I'm a goose not a swan 2025Skipper_15:
I was curious about this one, but tbh I'm not into Thai dramas (except for BLs) all that much. Main reason is I don't like soap opera style, melodrama or over the top acting. But I can be open, lol!
I'm watching Missing Crown Prince rn and it's borderline melodramatic at times and the music is totally over the top sometimes. It's almost funny watching the actors eyes get really big during an intense moment. I considered dropping it but it's JUST good enough to complete it.

Heyyyy! I'm an avid drama watcher but the historical drama has to be one of my top 3. I would love to join this club. I just previously finished watching flourished peony and Good Heavens: I'm a goose not a swan 2025, I highly reccomend if you are into historical thai dramas and also love a devil may care attitude FL while still being intelligent and careful. She also has a lot of support even in the worst situations. I need more people to talk about it. I hope to see more historical thai dramas like this in the future.
I'd like to see more too but it's tough to find places to watch Thai shows. Most places are obviously not licensed and because of that the video servers are very slow.

I do understand what you mean about thai dramas, most of the times I refrain from watching the really over the top ones but Good heaven! I'm a goose not a swan is really mellow compared to some of the other modern thai dramas with revenge storylines and horrible mother in laws. Although the drama isn't a comedy, their were a lot of funny moments whenever the FL would open her mouth against opression.
what does ptw mean?Skipper_15:

Hey there! Welcome to our daily fix on all things historical drama! I have to say I really liked Flourished Peony as well. The ML is one of my all time favourites and the FL was surprisingly really good too. Though of course I firmly placed myself in her position every time the ML was in the screen........coz he is that good.LOL. I cannot wait for season 2!
If you like FP, you might like Royal Rumours and Jun Jiu Ling. JJL is another fantastic gem of a historical that features a smart very independent FL, very supportive ML, some good funny moments and a super creepy obsessed villain, but its really fun to see our doctor FL get her revenge.
As for your recommendation for Good Heavens, I have to admit I haven't watched any Thai dramas mainly because I cannot stomach melodrama and over the top acting which I have been told is part of the package. I might check this one out though, if I run out of K and C dramas.
@amdream_weaver I will check out royal rumours. I did already watch a few edits of it but nothing really caught my attention but who knows.

It saddens me to say that many of the thai dramas I started out with were very melodramatic like hua jai sila and kluen cheewit, the later was actually on the better end but then I found other thai dramas and I'm glad I didn't judge them too quickly. Maybe you could try out
My love from the countryside, dhevaprom: kwanruethai and of course good heveans! I'm a goose not a swan. One of those might just change your mind. If they don't then you'll lose nothing but I hope to see more fans of thai dramas and filipino dramas in the future.
@autumn iris what does ptw mean? been trying to figure it out for a while now.Skipper_15:
Hehe, at first I also didn't know. Just like Indie Art Girl said, it's plan to watch.
like hua jai sila and kluen cheewitSkipper_15:
I dropped Hua Jai Sila which I watched because I like Tor Thanapob, but I completed Kleun Cheewit since I like both Mark Prin and Yaya Urassaya. Since then, I will only watch Thai drama if I like the visuals of both leads.
Skipper_15:
dhevaprom: kwanruethai
ML is so handsome. I think his name is Mike or something. Have you watched Dhevaprom: Dujupsorn? It's the same universe, ML is less handsome but his acting is better. And I really love My Cherie Amour with Tor and Yaya. Haven't watched a lot of Thai dramas though.

I previously watched 2 Filipino movie with Mario Maurer and Win Metawin and 1 BL drama. And I ptw Ilustrado and Ang Mutya ng Section E. Do you have other recommendation?
Jun Jiu Lingamdream_weaver:
Jun Jiu Ling is my cousin's favorite.

I will add them to my PTW for sure! Thank you for the recommendations. Always good to try out new stuff!

I can't wait to watch Mike Panithan act in future dramas. Funny enough I haven't watched Dujupsorn. I hate when revenge is done for silly reasons, from what I gathered, the reason for revenge isn't justifiable in this drama but I do want to watch it. Hearing that the actor does a good job convinced me. Love tor and yaya myself. I've seen hormones season 1 and 2 and the giver, phenomenal job by tor in those. I have seen a lot less thai dramas myself but when a plot captures me I just dive in. I don't watch dramas that have no substance even if the leads are fabulous and my favorite.

I've seen almost every movie with kathryn bernardo and daniel padilla so you can definitely check any of those out. Favs has to be:
Can't help falling in love
She's dating the gangster
For liza and Enrique it's:
Everyday I love you
I love Ang mutya ng section E myself, haven't finished it yet though. There's also:
Mga batang riles,
Mara Clara
Kadenang ginto aka the heiress
Those are vastly longer dramas that I really really love. Only the phillipines can have me watching a 100+ episodes with no sweat but I don't know if that's really your thing. He's into her is also an option that's significantly shorter than the others I've listed and if you are okay with that then you might like the rain in España.
I'm currently learning tagalog, at an A2 level so I can watch more dramas without subs as you'll find that the subs are very hard to come by for these dramas unless using IwantTFC (which I will subscribe to in the future). All the others are easily found.
Good luck and Happy watching! Hopefully something I listed catches your attention. Honorable mentions
