Day 27: Favorite Taiwanese BL

all the best ones have been mentioned, I think. My favorite is Unknown, but Kiseki: dear to me and See your love are also great. I’ve watched them all more than once. Kiseki is notable for such a great second couple. (I almost bought a Nat Chen pillow. Iykyk.)  I also love anti reset and have watched it multiple times.

i really loved history2: crossing the line and history 3: trapped, which I just watched recently. About Youth was also great.

all the other ones people have mentioned except for your name engraved herein are ones I’ve watched, liked, and would watch again. I think the promise of the soul will fall in that category. just have to say again how taken I am with Martin Wong (from promise of the soul), so that moves promise of the soul up my list.

also, i am really loving Secret Lover.

Regarding all your answers to the challenge, the questions like favorite food or favorite music have no hidden meaning, they were just added for fun and to get to know each other better. Lots of us have trouble limiting our answers though so gave very long explanation. Lol.

regarding 4Minutes, there is one person who explained the whole story really well in the comments. I’ll see if I can find it and send you the link. I found it very helpful.

Couldn’t fall asleep last night and found myself scrolling through “most popular dramas” on MDL. Does anyone know what the criteria are for these? It doesn’t seem to be rating. Could it be number of viewers? The BLs on the list are definitely not in order of what i would consider best to worst.

Nope, not yet. So far the options are TrueVisions NOW via VPN to Thailand (legal) or certain alternatives (not legal, which I prefer to avoid unless absolutely necessary). From everything I've read, the English subtitles (for both options) are abysmal  ... so I'm patiently holding out in the hope that there'll be a proper international release.

And yes, my CW list is a total mess. I need to do something about that. Someday.

Fav Tawainese BL

For now I will say the promise of the soul but that is the only one I have watch so this answer will probably change soon. I plan to watch some Tawainese BLs once I finish KinnPorsche which is the main thing I am watching at the moment besides watching eps for airing bls.

(Edit: completely forgot about secret lover so if I had to pick between promise of the soul and secret lover I would pick secret lover but beside those I have not seen any other Tawainese BLs)

I‘m really enjoying Promise of the Soul. The first episode was bad, though. poorly paced, inappropriate behavior, too much silliness to start the story. But after that it’s been really sweet and not too silly at all. The main couple have great chemistry, since they are a couple in real life. They’re doing a good job with the characters and giving the story just enough emotional weight. I can’t wait for the last episode this week!

also, Martin Wong is gorgeous!

Aside from Nameless Season, I’m watching all of these too. Doctor’s Mine is the weakest one for me, but the rest are really solid. I’m loving The Promise of the Soul. It’s got such a unique vibe and the whole cast is doing a wonderful job. BL series are really thriving this year!
