It was very orchestrated "reality". (The whole series, not just that scene.) The more recent "It Takes Two" even more so. 

But I love it! Domundi has gotten so good at this.

Yes. Although parallel universe stories aren't really my thing, it's reasonably good - and in my opinion underrated, especially for Ohm/Fluke fans. My main substantive criticism is that I don't like the two alternate endings thing.

Some people seem to have found the story a confusing mess, but I thought it was alright as parallel universe stories go. (Aren't all parallel universe stories a confusing mess?)

Or maybe some of the negative reviews are because of the "gay for you" trope (i.e. an otherwise very straight guy falls for the exceptional guy). I personally don't have a problem with this.

Or maybe it's because people were expecting Dean and Pharm? ("UWMA" sets an impossibly high standard.)
