My Golden Blood Episode 1

It’s was only episode so I’m not gonna judge the whole series but omg this is horrible cheesy vampire romance.  It kept making me think of like Twilight in the best and worst ways. lol. I am excited to continue it. I’m here for horribly cheese vampire romance

I enjoyed the emotional aspect of the show much more than I thought I would.

Overall this was a great watch, I definitely recommend it!

im glad you like it 😊 i was so interested in the plot, a very unique story

My Golden Blood - episode 1

.......................................lawd have mercy the face cards are NOT declining! *Fans self*

Before I talked about what I want to talk about let me just give my first impression thoughts on the series itself lol:

The effects used for the vampire powers are very cheesy lol like zero believability. They need the CGI effects of The Sign. For now I can look past that though.

A lot of blood. I really appreciate that the blood looks realistic in colour and liquid consistency.

A lot was revealed in regards to Tong's blood and that Mark was always looking after him from the shadow. This I feel was done too quickly. I would have preferred some slow burn revelations here.

All in all it was a good first episode, and I look forward to seeing where they take this story as well as how they handle it. I really like the intro; all the romantic scenes in it that are yet to come have my full attention.

Now to what really had my attention 🫦

Joss is one very handsome man. Tong's reaction to seeing Mark for the first time is understandable; the man was basically drooling and entering a state of heat.

How am I going to survive this series while keeping the front of my boxers dry 🥵

It looked at me first 😭

Visuals everywhere 😍

Secret Relationships - episode 5

I forgot to say this:

I really appreciate how they showed Jaemin's busted lip; aside from the pleasure it gives me knowing Su Hyeon decked him good, it really adds to the realism of the series that they added in that minor detail, and not just disregarding it; connecting the previous episode.

im compairing the trailer from my golden blood to Golden blood

I can see that they kept the"golden blood'' to be a rare blood vampires are going  after(although in golden blood its mafias)

So I just started watching My Golden Blood and the intro theme song audio quality is terrible and blasted out and peaking what an utter shame. Then the audio for the actors is trash after the intro song as well. It was perfect at the start before they cut to the intro song. All the speaking parts for the actors is horrible audio quality for the rest of the episode as I skimmed through it. This is not the production quality from GMMtv wth!

How did you get through this episode with the horrible audio?? I am trying to watch it now but ffs this is hard to enjoy with bad audio quality.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-AN3F9XId4 Nahh this video gave me major our skyy never let me go and that new NetJJ series coming soon bro like is it copying or not?

I may have been stuffing my face while watching and then with the different  visuals coming on screen it is very likely I did not notice 🤣  🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 Let me re-watch a part of it and see if it is the same for me.

I know attention is on My Golden Blood & Secret Relationships, but I'm stuck on Be Mine Superstar atm, and will watch SR hopefully tomorrow. I saw RX's comment under MGB about a lot of realistic blood and I may have to pass unless the blood takes a backseat for most of the series. I totally forgot that where there are vampires there is blood, duh!!!

Anyways, I just wanted to say that I am unexpectedly enjoying BMS, after getting past the first ep. It's not close to a masterpiece, but it is underrated imo.

I finished EP 7 and tbh it's one of the most romantic and heartwarming starts to a dating relationship I've seen in a BL. I'm bracing myself for some heartbreak before the end, which I hope is a happy one.

Is it a happy ending? Spoilers welcome! 😆

Okkkkk! Forget what I just said about the blood in My Golden Blood. I just now watched this beautiful MV with Gawin singing and seeing him with his drama partner Joss has me convinced I need to see this drama.

I'm so happy for Gawin!

F.Y.I

A few people have mentioned watching and supporting BL titles from countries not in the MDL database.  Selbee's pfp has lists of BLs from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

(re "Be Mine Superstar") I quite liked it, too, despite its considerable flaws - more viscerally than rationally. I'm in love with First Chalongrat, so it's possible that I'm not entirely neutral. (He will supposedly have some kind of role in the upcoming BL "Reset". I hope this means he's not entirely out of BL - although I guess First & Ja is now past tense, sadly.)

Are you up to the part where they go to Japan? The Japan scenery is really nice. Also, things get very steamy in the onsen. *cough cough*

As to your question: It's a fluff series, and fluff always has a happy ending. No worries.

 RXinw:
I eagerly await tomorrow's episode 6!

P.S this scene with the bunny ears took my mind south.

(re "Secret Relationships") Yes, I'm eagerly awaiting ep. 6, too. Such a fascinatingly messy and toxic story of green and red flags. (I want Daon for myself, but I'm scared of Su Hyeon!)

Given all the toxicity and pain, I appreciated how they temporarily dialed down the temperature in ep. 5 with some sweet, adorably cute and even funny moments. This series is really well done in so many ways.

As to your theory, maybe. We shall soon see how the story and backstory unfold.

I binged all of The End of the World With You

I'm so glad you liked it, too. It's more than two years since I watched it, so I will remind myself from the mini-review I wrote at the time:

This series is unique and extraordinarily good. I don't usually go for heavy apocalyptic drama; I'm more one for light love stories with a predictable happy ending. But this series is so well done - the story, structure, writing, production, and of course the two (or actually three? four?) excellent lead actors - that I can't give it anything but top marks. Not only the characters (flaws and all) are fascinating but also how the bonds between the four quickly develop under these strange circumstances. The bedroom scenes are unusually graphic for such series - and yet not just sensationalized, gratuitous sex but rather authentic and with a real dramatic purpose.

Thanks - that's a great resource. Duly bookmarked.

Subpar audio quality aside on this first one, I also enjoyed the first episode otherwise.

I agree with you that some of the cgi and some of the effects could have been better(like the shattering window glass and what is supposed to be the vampire super speed movement effect), but they all weren't bad. The effect they use for the healing breath parts was nice and didn't look cheesey, and in fact it lended to the sensual aspect of those scenes as they were intimate gestures. Like you, I'm not letting the  visual fx bother me that much.

The blood is a non-issue for me; I don't care about it at all.

I don't hate Gawin being the other male lead for this (I liked him in Be My Favorite), but I feel like there was a better choice opposite Joss for this type of series theme and aesthetic. I personally think Tay would have fit the role well and looked better opposite Joss, but idk if they would have had the chemistry necessary and execute their roles well together since I'm unfamiliar with the two of them acting together. If they did have the chemistry, I would have loved them being the leads for this better.

I'm also looking forward to the coming episodes and where this series will take us.
