This happened to me with Our Youth. The news about the main actor really ruined that series for me. It's currently sitting in my dropped list.

That being said, I'm not very picky about the series/movies I do watch and if an actor did something awful, I will simply stop watching his works. Happened with Our Youth, happened with Jackie Chan. It could happen to any series whatsoever if I come across horrible news about any actor (which doesn't happen often, I am surprisingly avoiding news sites altogether so if something is amiss, I find out through MDL mostly).

Personally I don't think we should ignore legitimate actor news (or director or whatever) just because we want to be blissfully unaware of actual reality when creating the fantasy of the series we're watching.

I choose bliss. If one were to pay attention to every piece of actor/entertainment news, real or fake, dramas might be dropping left and right cuz no one's perfect.  🤷🏻‍♀️

It's my personal choice but I respect your choice too. 👍

I'd say it honestly depends on the news. What the Our Youth actor did is despicable. Sure, he's still in trial but allegedly he did SA a woman in Hong Kong so watching that series is a no go for me.

Though I understand wanting bliss too. I'd be devastated to hear bad news from my faves.

Ditto. I can totally understand Florentina's decision if the circumstances make it possible for her to enjoy the series, and a criminal charge (even if not yet a conviction) is indeed a serious thing, not just toxic or spurious gossip.

However, my own personal decision (like Art Girl and RXinw) is to separate the individual actor from the production - partly for selfish reasons (i.e. because removing every title connected to a scandal would deprive me of too many good titles), but most of all out of fairness to many other people who put their blood, sweat and tears into the production. So in the case of "Miseinen", for example, boycotting Kamimura Kenshin means also punishing his completely innocent co-star Motojima Junsei.

Anyways, no easy answer here, just explaining my personal choice.

True, it can be taken in this way but also, I could be watching Motojima Junsei's upcoming works instead and follow him only from now on if I happened to be a fan of this series and both actors at the beginning.

The most difficult thing is when you follow an actor for a long time and then suddenly there's bad news about him as a person. I truly hope this never happens for my faves.

As for Miseinen, in all honesty I've seen it as a good series overall, not a 10 like many people rated it, but a solid 8 or even higher. It didn't make such a big impact on me for some reason, but a lot of people seem to love it, so there's that. To each their own and all.

One actor I dislike from Thai BL is Off Jumpol. But I still want to watch Burnout Syndrome, even if only for Gun and DewGun specifically. I know OG is endgame in that one (as in all their series), but it's by the same director as Not Me and I liked that series. Later on I fell off the OffGun bandwagon, but like, I still want to see Gun on screen. 

So, barring criminal offenses, watching actors I dislike on screen is not that big a deal.

In less serious news, I'm going to watch Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island tonight.

I also haven't made any progress on Only Friends for a few days now, so I'm going to watch ep 3 tomorrow. Should be a mess (I like the mess).

Gun Atthaphan is such a total sweetheart, not to mention a wonderful actor. I can't help but love him! 

As for Off Jumpol, I don't love him in the same way, but I also try to not let my feelings for him as an actor be unfairly coloured by the role I most associate with him (Khai the Jerk in "Theory of Love").

I hope it lives up to my effusive praise. I thought it was a masterpiece, even if low budget.

P.S. Remember my tip: The English subtitles are hard-coded and very small, so if possible, watch it in UHD on a large screen. Added plus: the cinematography is beautiful!

lol I went on your list to specifically search for Playboy (and the Gang of Cherry) and noticed you gave it a 8.5 (and watched in the first place). I ended up rating it a 6 because that makes for 3 MDL stars which is equivalent to xxx stars =))

Yeah, I gave it bonus points for being hardcore kinky. Please don't think less of me, haha!  Seriously, though, it was strangely fascinating, and not only for its lurid appeal. (To anyone who hasn't seen it, flashing red warning: Not for the faint-hearted.)
