Sigh 😕 it is just one scandal after the other
Guys I have been replaying the same tiktok video 🤣 screaming! It is about Sorn's beard from yesterday's episode of My Stubborn.
one comment said, "I mean, was the budget really not stretching to more than a sharpie marker? 🤣 🤣 🤣"
Another said, "5 dollars and a dream 😭😂"
This one killed me, "The production probably didn't have enough budget after that huge ass rhino"
I cannot 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 screaming 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
In all seriousness though was the beard really necessary; he just showed up in the next scene beard free as if nothing took place 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Reset episode 3
OMG I love this show! I figured I would because I love Pond Ponlawit and he always delivers, plus I love time travel (although it can easily be done badly), plus it looks like they put money into this. So far I like the story a lot and the rest of the cast is really adding depth. PeterPan is not only beautiful but emotive and has great chemistry with Pond. Plus love me a man in an expensive suit! Also Bom from I Will Knock You may have a smaller part but I love seeing him play such a different role and he is definitely selling it. My “BL Bestie” has been getting annoyed that Armin’s character keeps talking about the future, but I think it fits with the character and his frustration with his past life. I’m not sure I’m the best judge of this show, though, because it already has me hooked and I’m just enjoying it without thinking critically. Nothing has happened so far to get in the way of that for me.
As for episode 3, were they trying to torture us with all the almost kissing?! I mean, they do it well but just kiss already! From the previews though it looks like they will next week. I‘m waiting for Armin to finally see that Thada has the ability to make this version of his life different, but I think he’s already hopeful just not sure about it yet. I look forward to seeing how Armin’s life will be different this time, and how he will make better or more informed choices. Also I love seeing Armin doing auditions because it gives Pond a chance to show off his skills.
im still nervous because in the trailer it showed Armin’s life resetting more than once. I will be sad when that happens because I’m now invested in the character. Although frankly they did such a good job with the first episode I was sad the first time he reset.
one concern I have as well is about the fandom. Generally when shows are popular and successful, fans immediately jump hard on the main ship. Unfortunately often fans go too far. I know Pond has a long-term girlfriend and I would hate for her to get hate just because PeterPond are so good together. I hope people can love the show without needed the ship to sail off-screen.

That beard was not necessary and it was painful to look at. But you’re making me laugh so maybe it was worth it. Lol
I finished Not Me. So good! I loved it. I’ve been meaning to watch it for a long time but was just waiting to be in the right mood for it. It was emotionally intense as well as suspenseful. I loved that it was about social injustice as well as love. I thought they did a good job discussing real issues while still making it about the characters’ journeys. The love stories were beautiful. I’m a huge fan of “the healing power of love” trope, even if it’s sappy. The actors sold it though. I thought they were all great. There were interesting female characters too, unlike many BLs which just exclude women from the mix or only have a token female character.
Before watching this I was not an OffGun fan. I had only seen them in cooking crush and was unimpressed. I knew this was considered their best show and was hoping this would sell me on their ship and it did! They were great together. I also really liked GawinFirst. i already believed either of them could work with anyone but this proved me right. Also did they do some impressive crying in this. I was really moved. Gawin really made me feel like he was carrying all that guilt and confusion.
Beyond believing twins could impersonate each other, which is the premise so I just went with it, the story had a few minor holes, namely how could White just disappear one day without his father looking for him or wondering what he was doing.
Overall it was one of the best BLs I’ve seen. (OK, out of 300 I have a top 25 or 30. I will add a list of them to my profile one of these days.) I think I’d call it a favorite even though I won’t be rewatching it multiple times. That’s reserved mostly for comfort BLs. But who knows. I gave it a 9 which is high for me.
Futtara Doshaburi - episode 1 - finale (binge watched)
Again Japan has delivered a very unique story-line which sets it apart from other countries in the BL industry.
This series underscored the importance of open communication in a relationship. It also highlighted the importance of sex and intimacy in a romantic relationship should those elements be desired by any party of such a relationship. I think this series is quite thought provoking, revealing a mature discourse on relationships. I love how it was written in such a way that it was easily absorbed despite the big topics being fleshed out.
Sex is oftentimes wrongly viewed as a dirty act and just a means to an end - reproduction. In my view this is a myopic and repressed idea to hold. Through the portrayal of the characters in this series we see where this socially constructed idea of sex is deconstructed to bring forth the deeper importance of the act; sex can be a pathway to intimacy of not just bodies but also minds. That intimacy can be tapped into before, during or even after sexual intercourse. It is the feeling of being held, of togetherness - not being alone. This series clearly shows that being physically near someone does not translate into sharing an intimate space with them. It also highlights the fact that if two individuals are in a sexless relationship where one of them craves sexual intimacy while the other does not, it can create conflicting tension and result in sexual frustration in the person desiring sexual intimacy.
Of course there is also the biological explanations for the importance of sex in terms of the release of certain chemicals in the brain.
I say all of this to say that this series was quite the thought provoker, and I enjoyed having my thoughts provoked.
Lets rate it:
Production - 2/2
Writing - 1.5/2
Intimacy - 2/2
Acting - 2/2
Music - 1/1
Special 10 scene - 0/1
Final rating score = 8.5/10
I do not think I need to use the spoiler feature since I did not reveal anything substantial from the series that the synopsis does not reveal nor did I say anything inappropriate 🤔 - at least I think so lol
I have not watched episode 2 of Reset yet, and I cannot muster the brain power to do so now at 12:23 am. For me this series is not in cruising mode (past initial episodes), so I am too drained right now to focus on the episode to figure out where I stand with it in terms of enjoyment.
Same for today's release of Revenged Love.
I will watch them both when I wake up.
So I stumbled upon a trailer for a series 3 days ago that I didn't know existed, which was a drama that Ohm did in his early career before he was in Bad Buddy. I have not cried like this for a BL in a really long time. I finished watching He's Coming to Me earlier tonight. It was so so good! I loved the story for this series so much. Ohm was such a great actor even early on, and I really liked him with Singto as his ml partner. They were both so good together in this series.
There's something about series that were made in the few years leading up to the start of the new decade 2016 - 2019/2020. Like Until We Meet Again, TharnType, HIStory3: Make Our Days Count, etc, which were also out around that time as well. They seemed to have more authenticity and depth to their stories compared to most now. It feels like series are more commonly becoming commercialized and being pumped out with such a rapid pace with rushed productions and rushed writing and stories that are often more surface-level.

From your watch list, it looks like you've not seen "Make It Right" (2016), when Ohm Pawat was just 16 and in his first-ever role. It's a bit of a pain to watch because there was never an official international release, so one needs to exactly follow the instructions on World of BL. Despite some flaws and rough edges, I love this series - and not only for the cuties (as well as the historical interest of seeing Ohm and various other familiar BL faces in their early days).

I watched the first two episodes of "Revenged Love" and am already lovin' it - except maybe for one little thing that irritates me in so many Chinese productions, namely the dubbed voices. Yeah, I understand the language/dialect reasons for this - but still, it's a bit distracting.

If I could give this statement a 10 I would. I very much agree with this assessment.

I have avoided watching this series for a long time due to how emotionally heavy everyone claims it to be. Maybe this will be the year I finally watch.

It really is. Like I mentioned, I have not cried as much as I did or as hard as I did for a series in a long time. And I really needed a good story like this, and it was beautifully executed by Ohm and Singto in their roles. It's been so long since I had a series give me this and was exactly what I needed in a sea of fluff and rom-coms lately. I understand that how emotionally something affects someone is different from person to person, but I think you'll really like it.
@RXinw
Futtara Doshaburi—I’m glad you enjoyed this and I really liked some of the sentiments you articulated regarding physical/sexual intimacy, its importance, and its ability to bring people close together. I agree. I found this series very moving. The slowly developing relationship between the two male leads who can finally confide their sexual needs to someone, and in turn end up turning to that person to meet those needs was really well-portrayed. I think the fact that they can finally discuss something so important yet so difficult with each other leads them towards wanting to express themselves sexually with each other. I wish the show had included a little more footage of their NC scenes, since they were such a crucial part of the story, but even with most left to the imagination, I still liked it. I appreciated the complexity the show portrayed in the choices the MLs made to stay with their partners up until that point, but not once they had finally admitted what was missing.
I think this show shed light on how easily people at any age can end up in relationships lacking intimacy even when that is something they want and need. It also highlighted the importance of being able to talk about one’s intimate life/sexual needs with someone.
Frankly I was so taken with the idea of this show that it didn’t quite live up to my high expectations, but I still really liked it.
