180 Degree Longitude Passes Through Us
i have never before given a show a 10 but this one deserved it for me. So beautifully made, wonderfully acted, meaningful, and heartbreaking. I was actually in physical pain over the ending but it also made sense for the story so I could accept it. but i still cried. This was the most moving BL I have ever seen. I was completely mesmerized. I always say no show is perfect and therefore doesn’t deserve a 10 but this one touched me so deeply.
Pond Ponlawit was already amazing in my book, but this just proves how talented he is. The other leads were impressive as well. I loved how much emotion was often conveyed without words.
the cinematography was also masterful and there were a lot of symbolic elements like the mother always dressed in blue (representing her sadness and loneliness) or the room divider than looked like prison bars (representing how In was trapped in a prison of his own making.) the use of the concept of a line in both architecture and geography was a perfect metaphor. I’m a sucker for stuff like that. Plus the house and surrounding location were beautiful and atmospheric.
it did have the feel of a play or art film rather than a BL. Anyway, to me it‘s more of a gay-themed drama than just a BL.
I cannot express enough how much I loved this so thank you everyone who encouraged me to watch it.
to get to watch both this is and Secrets Happen on Litchi Island in the same year just proves to me that the BL world has even more to offer than i thought. If you have not seen either of these shows don’t put it off any longer.
but now I need my favorite fluff to recover, so I’m going to watch Your Sky for the 4th time.
