Kill to Love EP 9

I think my journey with Shu He & Zi Ang ends now. 😥

Now you're scaring me lol. I'm still on ep 3 and I had paused it for now as I'm reading a manhwa with the same historic vibe and I'm mixing them up lol. So I'm finishing the manhwa first before diving back to it =D

This past Sunday’s episode of Shine won’t stop living rent-free in my head.

I've seen the trailer and even cast interviews. Am I the only one who doesn't see the same chemistry level as was in KinnPorsche ? Im waiting for it to finish airing before I binge watch.

Ha ha, I scared myself. RX said it's okay, after some pain first.

I saw the first couple eps but decided to wait to binge afterwards. I'm struggling to follow the story.

@RXinw Re: Kill To Love

My thoughts and feelings are nearly identical to yours concerning Xiao Shu He. I felt so frustrated by his actions and behaviour. His intentions were in direct contrast with his methods. But ultimately I drew the same conclusions. He was incompetent and could not even accept alternatives for the betterment of his people by swallowing his resentment. It seems his ministers were equally incompetent who only thought of advising him to wage a war and not seek peace through alliance that would have benefitted the kingdom as a whole.

I don't understand how he could love a brother that killed his father out of greed but he couldn't love Duan Zi Ang who killed his brother to protect him. Also, his brother left a cure for all poisons and if he wanted, he couldnhave shared it with Duan Zi Ang and both could have lived happily exactly how he dreamed his life to be.

His ending was his last bit of selfishness. Normally I do not consider suicide selfish since this is a mental health issue. But in Xiao Shu He's case, he was only seeking a way out of taking any kind of responsibility. He let go of his happiness and murdered it with his own hands.

The afterlife sequence also felt like a slap in the face. After wanting Duan Zi Ang to suffer the remainder of his life, he is happy to see him? I can't accept it. 😪  His brother can change, but I don't think he can.

Welcome! What have you watched recently?

 Matt:

Hi!! Yes I've been watching ABO Desire and Kill to Love recently. My all time favorite shows atm is hard to choose, but My Personal Weatherman and My-Stand in come close.

Those are all so good!

The MileApo chemistry is very different and much more subtle, but the acting from everyone is superb! The second couple fill the slot of more intense chemistry and passion. The show is amazing, though, and definitely worth the watch. Different completely from KinnPorsche. Not as fun but even Better quality all around. More realistic and serious subject matter for sure, though.

My Stand-In is an amazing series. I enjoyed it a lot and gave it 10/10 rating.

I see what you mean. I think two things:

Firstly, I think it is a matter of familiarity versus new. We have experienced Mile and Apo before in KinnPorsche, so we know they have good chemistry, whereas we are not familiar with the second couple and are experiencing them for the first time. They indeed have amazing chemistry, so a lot of focus is given to their interactions, hence the new chemistry is getting more attention than the familiar chemistry. I think because of this fans have a higher expectation from Mile and Apo; they are now looking for more from Mile and Apo outside of chemistry - acting and the ability to convey the emotions of the characters; they are looking for something deeper than chemistry.

Secondly, I think Be On Cloud truly made a breakthrough with the "second couple syndrome" this time around. In KinnPorsche Vegas and Pete had a large fan base, but Kinn and Porsche still held the attention that a main couple does. In 4 Minutes the second couple made a more significant impact than the main couple for various reasons, but the main couple still had some main couple attention. However, this time around the second couple has truly captured viewers and has significantly led attention away from the main couple in such a way that it feels as if their positions are switched. When you look at how social media is reacting to this series one would think Mile and Apo are playing the second couple and not the main.

Anyway, this is what I think.

Nothing like some consensus 😌 I thought I would be the odd one out considering the popularity of the series.

I concur!

Right! I wrote similar points in my review within limits so as to not give the entire plot away. I am expecting angry people. 😅

I was slightly less generous than you and gave it only a 7/10 which is still good according to me. Just couldn't tolerate Xiao Shu He's fake behaviour in the last part to give it an 8.
