Italophilia:
RE: The Promise of the Soul They worked on a travel vlog before the show and are good friends. I had also heard they were a RL couple, but I saw an interview where they outright were confused why everyone thought they were dating just because they did a BL. In the interview below, they said they took classes on how to kiss so they would feel more comfortable, even talked about noticing how dry Martin's lips were. I think a couple IRL would already know that and not notice it for the first time.

Ok, my bad. one called the other “bae” on IG when saying happy birthday so i thought that was confirmation but I guess not.
and that goes for @Indie Art Girl, Mr. P, and @Italophilia as well. In my mind you all are in your 20s 😁 so yayyy for being young againRXinw:
You are most kind. 💕
we have our own age gap here in the club lol. Mr. P and his dearly beloved angel Fluke.RXinw:
I have several "dearly beloveds", but Fluke is my one and only "most dearly beloved". Don't forget the "most".
On a serious note: Having a double-digit age gap with my real spouse, this is a sensitive subject for me. Aren't we in this community supposed to be rejecting judgemental attitudes about which relationships among consenting adults are OK and which aren't?
+++
On the subject of "Khemjira": Last night's episode 6 continues to be excellent, and I continue to be deeply in love with Namping (who is most definitely a "dearly beloved"), but with the halfway mark of this series now reached, and lots of background setup for the two couples, I'm very ready to finally see some love blossoming.
i'm still deciding on khemjira (leaning towards yes)iota:
Give it a try. The first episode is one of the scarier ones, so if you make it through that, you should be fine. I personally don't like horror or thrillers, but I'm lovin' this one - although admittedly because Domundi has done an overly good job in getting me invested in their cast. (See my above obsession with Namping.)
I haven't started "Mandate", not least because there's no official international release.
Mr. P, thank you for reminding us not to be judgmental of consensual relationships. It’s easy to forget that just because something might not appeal to us doesn’t mean it’s unacceptable for others.
For example, I would not be comfortable in a poly relationship but I think it’s great to see more of them represented on screen. At the same time I don’t want my spouse to stop me from loving all the beautiful BL boys. As you once said, imagination is free. You also reminded me that I can like whomever I choose without having to feel guilty about being an older fan. So thanks for that too.
@RX
thanks for thinking of us as young. My skin really appreciates it. Lol.

My thoughts exactly. It's an interesting story theme, and interesting to imagine, even if I know from my younger experiences that it's nothing for me in reality.

Did I really say that? You make it sound so much better. Anyways: Yes, exactly.
Khemjira
everyone looked so beautiful this week and I love seeing ChanJet finally starting to get closer. I love that they were also a couple in a past life. But Peem is frustrating me. Why is he so resistant to Khem? I don’t understand his reasoning or the idea that he can’t date if he’s a shaman. I looked it up and while it depends on the situation, shamans can and do date.so why won’t peem just admit he likes Khem?
Revamp
lots of revealing and interesting developments this week. BounPrem still have great chemistry. Barcode still looks hot, if temperamental as Ciar. And I want Mehkin to get together with Pokpong! I also love finally seeing AJ and JJ in a show together. This show is turning out better than I expected from the first episode. I’m so glad.
Desire
i know this show has its flaws but I’m having fun getting mad at the characters and their stupid (or psychotic) ideas and behaviors. I still find everyone beautiful, especially Eliot, and I love Hua Yong and Sheng Shao You’s chemistry. I’m happy the plot is moving forward. It’s still an enjoyable watch for me.

How dare I get it wrong 😞. Duly noted for future reference.

Absolutely, judgemental attitudes about other persons relationships should not be tolerated.
I did not mean any offence; sorry if I made you feel insulted.
Persons should absolutely be able to enjoy their choices free of judgement. What two or more consenting adults do regardless of age or gender is no one's business once they are not harming others. What matters is respect - even though I have a preference it should not be at the judgement of others' preferences that are different.
thanks for thinking of us as young. My skin really appreciates it. Lol.dora:

Desiredora:
I have a whole working theory on this series to write about in my finale review.
ABO Desire - episode 12
Another episode down. I was more locked into this episode than the previous two.
The second couple is still nowhere near establishing a relationship.
Shine (Orchestric Ver.) - episode 7 (penultimate episode)
Bella ciao - this song came to mind while watching this episode.
This episode is a heavy one. The emotions and events cut deep. There are some triggers in this episode.
After watching this episode I feel a weight on my mind; a reflective atmosphere clouds my mind as I think back on what happened in it, and how those events echo the realities of the present and past.
You do not finish this episode with a smile; you leave with a somber feeling.
Even though I have a lot to say, and will be saving it for the finale review, I must point out the stark similarities between the events in this episode and what happened this past week in Nepal. It certainly makes you wonder if this series is really just a reflection of the past or a reflection of a constant present.
Just finished my catch-up binge-watch of the Japanese remake of "Love Sea". Although I've heard mention in this group, I don't recall hearing any real feedback yet, so here goes:
With last week's episode 6, this brings me to the halfway point in this 12-episode series. It's also just now reaching the point in the story at which the Thai original started to get annoyingly cliché and boring in some scenes, so it remains to be seen whether the Japanese remake will suffer from this same weakness or whether they'll somehow manage to streamline the story in the second half.
Instead of "Mut" (Fort) and "Rak" (Peat), the protagonists are "Muto Kaishin" and "Rakumoto Ai". (How clever, eh?) The actor who plays Ai really nails the arrogant and cynical sulkiness of the character just as well as Pouty Peat, but unfortunately, there is no substitute for the incomparable Fort Thitipong, hubba hubba!
The NC scenes are indeed steamy, by Japanese standards and even by Thai standards, but that's not my reason for watching. (With rare exceptions, NC scenes don't usually do much for me, nor does heavy snogging, blech!)
Cuties are, however, a valid reason for me to watch anything (up to and including trainwrecks), and there are some, notably Kaishin's younger brother.
As with the Thai original, which worked in cameos for Boss and Noeul, the Japanese remake worked in cameos of the actors who played the main couple in the Japanese remake of "Love In The Air". (For admirers of Nagumo Shoma: It's in the middle of episode 6. He works in the restaurant, while Hamaya Takuto works in the clothing store.)
Although I wasn't as negative about the GL couple in the Thai original as many others, I would say that the Japanese counterparts, and the execution of the GL storyline, are arguably better.
I claim to be a tough critic of remakes of good originals that didn't need remaking, and yet I watch them anyways. As with the Japanese remake of the iconic "LITA", I don't see much point in this remake of "Love Sea" other than to have a domestic product for the Japanese market. In the case of "LITA", the generally inferior remake did, however, have one advantage: it intertwined the two storylines, thus avoiding the split into two sequential halves which was my one substantive criticism of the iconic Thai original.
Anyways, getting back to "Love Sea", I definitely wouldn't call the Thai original "iconic", but it had some good points, not only Fort & Peat (needless to say, absent in the remake) but also the beautiful cinematography of the lush Thai island in the first three episodes. Although the Japanese island is interesting, neither the beauty nor the cinematography is anywhere near the Thai original, the first three episodes of which were really nice. (It didn't start going downhill until episode 4.)
In sum, I don't love this remake so far, nor did I think I would, but I'm strangely looking forward to Tuesday's episode 7. Why? Curiosity as to how it compares to the Thai original? My relentless quest for new cuties to admire? Dunno. Anyways, I'll hold off on my final verdict until the end.
I finally finished Pit Babe Season 2: Uncut . And I'm still in love with Pavel. The ending was a bit messy though.
Hey but we have our own age gap here in the club lol. Mr. P and his dearly beloved angel Fluke.RXinw:
True...!
anyone's started watching mandate?iota:
Hiya! 😊 It's on my PTW list, but I'll wait til later.
how is everyone feeling about shine and khemjira?iota:
I tried Khemjira, but yk horror scenes aren't my thing, lol. Mr. P said it's not so bad after EP 1 (I know it's him this time, lol) so maybe I'll try again sometime.
I started Shine and got a few eps in and decided to wait til it's done airing. I thought it was good but a little hard to understand what's going on. 😆 I'm looking forward to finishing it though.
hope everyone's been doing good <33iota:
I'm pretty good and u? I'm starting to feel myself again since art classes started and painting always, without fail, gives me joy. It's smth I can't explain but I'm so thankful for. 🙏
Most of the time I subconsciously think you are my age 😂 and that goes for @Indie Art Girl, Mr. P, and @Italophilia as well. In my mind you all are in your 20s 😁 so yayyy for being young again lolRXinw:
I think I'm ur age too. 😆
