you got this!!!!!

🤣  Right after I went public with my commitment above I remembered Head to Head starts in 4 days, waaaaah. I'm thinking about how my CW list will look on the 26th and scheming in my head to include it. Hahaha

Me talking to myself tonight:  A plan is not the same as a promise.  🤷🏻‍♀️

Thinking about scheming...I just finished EP 4 of Love in the Moonlight and wow it's full of schemers and evil doers. In true melodrama style the bg music is very dramatic too. The band though....I'm loving their style and I might have a crush on the lead singer.

Still waiting for the 2 leads to grow on me.

The Eighth Sense

It's been awhile since I watched this series. I do remember it being a good watch but emotional for sure. I gave it a 10/10 and it's on my Fav BL Picks list, but tbh it's prob not in my top 10 BLs if I were to make a list like that. 😆

 charnin:

just completed the seventh episode of The Eighth Sense , honestly  it  was a tough one , really hit home. for most of it I just wanted to know if Ji Hyeon was okay & what his condition was like , I feel I need a break before I go back as this is really heavy stuff ! :(

The first time I watched it I was so worried at that point I couldn’t enjoy it. I also have mental health issues so that part is hard for me too. I’ve rewatched it twice since and was able to appreciate it much more once I had seen the whole thing and knew what to expect. Also there aren’t many Asian series that show someone going to therapy or a psychiatrist so i appreciate that part even more now.

but it is a really great series. Take a break if you need to, but try to finish. You will be happy you did.

Love in the Moonlight eps 11-12

I really loved this show, but what a ride! I’m glad I waited to watch ep 11 today with episode 12 because the ep 11 curse had me crying and I needed to see the end. I have to admit I had no idea I liked melodramas so much, but maybe it’s just when they’re well-done. (Then again, I did fall in love with kdramas before BLs, and they’re all pretty melodramatic. lol. But i still love my cute and fluffy shows too.) i really loved how this show used real issues and believable stakes for the storyline, even when the characters or events unfolded in an exaggerated way. Where wealth goes when a monarchy is dissolved is a real issue, as well as wealthy or prestigious families marrying to keep their wealth or status intact. Parental disapproval over being gay is an issue even today (as I have personally experienced) and societal scorn and disgust over gay behavior is also real, more so in the 1960s. all these issues driving the plot felt like they had real and important stakes, and they made me feel invested in the plot and characters throughout the series. I am so glad Pin finally came around, because her behaving badly was so hard to watch. Once she was on Sasin and Saenkaew’s side I knew things would workout somehow. The grandma was wonderful! Yay grandma! (My grandma was like this when my parents were not.) I’m also happy that Saenkaew was able to reconcile with his father, even though i would have found it hard to ever forgive him. Clearly Saenkaew valued his family a lot even when no one was on his side, so it makes sense that he would want a reconciliation. Plus he lost his mother so to lose his father too, no matter how awful he was, would have really pushed his limits.I’m happy for Saenkaew but I personally still hate Kamfah.

i must say I was surprised to see both Inthra and Bodin killed. I just didn’t expect it. even if they did behave in reprehensbile ways. I would have liked a little more wrap up regarding Kamfah and Kalong, but at least they showed that a military takeover doesn’t guarantee economic success for a country. I know this show wasn’t about the political message, though, and that all the political machinations were just a set up for our characters situations.

i really wanted Pin to fall for the guy in the band who loved her, but at least she seemed at peace with her situation in the end. And of course I was happy to seen Sasin and Saenkaew get their happily ever after. I still picture them living away from society long-term, but as long as they were happy that’s all that matters. Plus Saenkaew deserved a break from outside expectations. I hope they still visited their friends and family though, and that they didn’t feel alone in the world.

i know I’m going on and on without saying much of substance but these characters really felt alive for me and I really cared what happened to them. That’s really the mark of a good show for me.

I haven't yet watched "Moonlight", but I like it when people share their enthusiasm!

The Cursed Love ep3

i‘m still enjoying this a lot. It helps that I really love mythological stories and supernatural elements. I was curious to see Hindu elements show up in the story, but I’ve been reading and Southern Thailand does have a history of being influenced in its religious thinking by India. I couldn’t find anything about Hinduism specifically, but its totally possible. I wish I knew the mythology the story is based on so I could see where they took liberties with it, but I still like trying to figure that out. I love the supernatural powers revolving around the four elements of earth, air, fire, and water. I’m sure the new character of earth will be the earth supernatural.

i did think it was a bit abrupt with the couple almost kissing at the end, even if they were lovers in a past life. I feel like they could have segued to that a little better. The love triangle was also there in the past life, so it was obvious that was coming.

not without flaws, but I’m still looking forward to this every week. it doesn’t hurt that Ongsa is super beautiful. ❤️

Just watched At 25:00 in Akasaka Season 2 EP4 and let me tell you guys, the way these current JBLs  have a hold on me-- Punks Triangle and School Trip: Joined a Group I’m Not Close To EP1 were also such a treat this week ;;

Yay! I totally agree.

Oceans Heart pilot looks amazing! Romance, action and intrigue by the ocean - with cuties!

No MDL page or release date yet.

I‘m excited for this. The trailer looks so good. Too bad Kongthup doesn’t have a better track record…. Still, I’m hopeful

Just finished tonight's ep 3 of The Cursed Love. Another great episode, and omg my heart ... it's shattered for Thara. I felt his pain. 😭💔

Reflecting on the first four episodes, I'm increasingly feeling that "Lover Merman", despite the nice visuals, qualifies as a trainwreck (not that trainwrecks are necessarily a bad thing) - and yet it has an average MDL rating of 7.1. Opinions?

I'm the Most Beautiful Count  ep 9-12

I'm enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. But I have to say, I'm staying more because it's funny than because of the story. The characters do grow on you but I still can't connect with the leads as a couple. instead of romantic, their relationship sometimes feels forced to me.

Love in the Moonlight  finale

This was really good. I loved it from start to finish. This is definitely one of the best BL of the year for me. It kept me on the edge of my seat with each episode, I was so anxious throughout the show, scared of what might happen to them. But I'm glad we got a good ending. I loved the characters and develepment of their relationships. I also loved Sasin's bandmate, I was happy eveytime they showed up.

I feel bad for Pin, I know her family doesn't care about her at all, but to have her father confirm that to her and it being the last thing he said before his death! That must have hurt a lot.

The parents in this show are just trash, I know they gave Saenklaw's father a redemption, but it feel so undeserved.  I don't know how to feel about that.

I gave it a 9/10

I found it okay for a short series. The premise was interesting and the acting not bad.

I do look for BL's where the mc suffers mentally this is because I find the story more impactful so I know going in there will be feels but this one is the first one that is so relatable I had to take a moment. I suffer with mental health also & I feel like Jae Won is me. not many do show therapy sessions you're right so I was surprised , I started therapy not long ago & like the mc I feel that I have to put up a front when talking to others unable to be completely myself. to add to that in the previous episode finding out he suffered a loss , I lost my brother too. maybe this got to me over others because it's too similar to my circumstances.

There's smth that keeps me watching even though it's not one of the better BLs airing rn. It's not the worst either. That would be Never Date a Capricorn on YT, lol.

I like secret IDs and watching the other MLs reaction to discovering the secret. That keeps me watching. I also like stories of love at first sight and watching that person chase and win over the other one. In this show it's mostly just awkward. The acting could be much better.

Not sure what a train wreck score is but for me a 7.1 barely qualifies a spot on my PTW. There's exceptions, but I admit to paying more attention to shows with a score of 7.5 with an 8+ even better. Of course it doesn't mean 8+ shows are automatically great watches. I've disliked and dropped many highly rated and very popular shows, as others may have too.

Which leads me to.......Love in the Moonlight!!  Warning: A bit of a rant ahead!!

I can see the attraction for sure. I wish I shared the enthusiasm, but sadly not so much. I had a strong feeling LITM would be dramatic when I saw part of the trailer and I'm not wrong. I've completed EP 5 and I feel mixed on continuing or not. I can feel my tolerance level reaching it's limit.

For me, melodramas are a rollercoaster of hot & cold, mean underhanded characters and ott scenes, which can leave me drained and anxious. Not to mention continual shouting, hitting, crying etc...

At the same time I can appreciate the struggles the MLs are going through, especially the prince. For a comparable drama with less ott, I enjoyed watching Memoir of Rati so much more.  It's a great example of what I like in a drama. When I realized that I couldn't help but find LITM less enjoyable.

Sorry I'm not more positive this morning! I'll end with smth cheerful.

Have a great day or evening!

It's one of the better short series on YT rn. What I liked is the focus is on the challenges of an already established relationship, which doesn't receive nearly as much attention as a storyline. The actors did a pretty good job too. I would have liked it to be a longer series.

Also the ending!  After all that to finally have a loving scene and it was cut waaaaay short. It didn't need to be NC, just show more of them being warm to each other.

I totally agree! I think this one and "Checkered Shirt" were the best short korean BLs of the year on Youtube.

Yeah, the ending was a bit unsatisfying, but they usually release uncut versions when there is an NC scene like for ep 3.
